the cheapest i've seen so far for pre-sale of the slipknot show is 75, and that requires some type of membership with fan clubs, and it's pit area. i used to love pits, but since the wrist injury i've shied away. plus standing for a couple of hours breathing in everyone else's sweaty mouth exhaust while being forced to sway and get stomped on by jumping people, all while avoiding getting sucked into a pit isn't as much fun as it used to be.
the cheapest for floyd is a bit more than 50 for the upper deck. they try and re-create the visual theatrics of an original floyd show, so i don't want to be too close, but against the back wall isn't all that desirable to me either.
Since those are the bands you're looking for, I have another suggestion- Groupon & Living Social. Hear me out. All to often I see acts for sale on Groupon & LS, decent stuff, and I have actually seen Korn available for sale, too. Take a peek from time to time to see if they're on it again.
I did not go because Korn aren't what they used to be either. I saw them twice in the past, awesome both times. However, they've released more albums than I care to know about since Follow the Leader and very little of the original band remains. I'd be looking for the old music, but would likely get a show with a couple of key hits and the rest would be stuffed with everything post "Issues" and that new electronica rock they're playing.
The pit isn't where I want to be these days either. Don't blame you at all there, age is a b****. Hell, I saw Marilyn Manson from the mezzanine seats at a venue known for the floor and proximity to the stage. This didn't stop me and everyone else up there from rocking out though. I even dropped my wallet and had it returned to me with everything in it- that NEVER would have happened in the pit area.
