Morning guys. Company's sold. There are offer letters and such. My guess is they're just interim, but we'll see. The president spoke briefly to our R&D group and says they need R&D resources badly but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
Happy Tuesday!

I totally understand the stress. I went thru the same kinda thing (company getting sold) 3 times in my career, but was very lucky. Of course, you have the added curve ball of a down economy. Good luck.

Down economy is a PITA. That, and I have to be conscientious of Lindsey's career, too. I can't just up and go to a much further job opening. Shes 3 years into hers and only about half a year into her current position (with loads of upwards momentum). At the least, my savings account won't be depleted.
Our vacation time is null and void (paid out, and I'm actually in a deficit- yay!) and we'll only accrue about 1.5 days (just in time for holidays) between now and December. Lame. We can opt to take no-pay days. Lamer.

Wish me luck today guys, I have a big meeting!!!!

Made some kick-a** pork roast this eve, all day in the crock pot. Then I aced the gravy to go with the mashed potatoes. The mixed veg and garlic bread was easy and not worth mentioning.

I am AWESOME...just sayin.

I got new tires on the truck, tire size calculator says I have 8.5% slower reading on my speedo, so that's about 65 reading as 60 MPH. Meh, I'll deal. The beefier tires mean a nicer ride and look a little better. I think someone dumped the height a little because the rears are tucked a bunch, lol. I fell like a Mexican in this thing...

It's more politically correct to say he's "holding his own".

I bought the brand new Dunlop Direzza's. So far, they appear to be pretty fantastic. Very meaty.

My preference is usually Bridgestone, but there isn't much available for high performance summer tires in the 14" wheel size.

As for work, I'm still employed and will be until ~Lent. At the least, I won't have a decrease in wage/living for the moment. However, as the companies become more and more integrated, I presume that my position will be a redundancy in their system.

I got some Kumhos this time, I hope they work well. Only paid $108 each installed, has good road hazard, warranty, etc...

Truck is getting inspected as we speak! *crosses fingers*
I gotta say, I am really gonna love being able to haul sh*t around. I can finally do actual work now...

I was before I reached the age of reason. ;)

The reasoning behind Lent is because I'm employed by a seafood company. Those few Fridays of no meat consumption are huge for our fiscal year and our buildup of inventory is starting now.

Damn, inspection came back with a whole damn list of sh*t wrong with the thing. Had a leaf spring bracket weld broken, all the rubber on the shackles is bad, even though I had the drums off 6 months ago the guy said he can't budge one of 'em and the hardware is broken in the other one, says the front rotors are bad because of a tiny surface score on one side, and various other things that are tiny in comparison.

He also said that you don't need a rear bumper, but you have to have the frame ends make contact with the outer body at the end of the bed. SO, that ends that little discussion about that. Fu*k this state.
