Happy Tuesday dude.
A busy day shaping up! Rather, a busy week. Just realized I have a 100 mile bike ride scheduled for Sunday. Probably going to have to drop it to 50.

What's so happy about Tuesday?

I need to go get my bike out. I haven't rode it in a couple of months.

Speaking of biking/cycling - You know cyclists really annoy the crap out of me around here... We have a ton of really nice backroads, that are very hilly and narrow. This is ALWAYS where the local cyclists choose to go for rides and there is nothing more annoying than riding behind a bike, or group of bikes for 5 miles because you cannot safely pass them. Do they pull over or move out of the way? Hell no. They will ride right in the center of the lane and prevent you from going around them, like they own the road.

50 is reasonable. 100 is a problem without conditioning. Half marathon run in 2 weeks, too!
Time to cut back on the beers!

Because its not Monday?

That's exactly how our riders act here. It ain't right I tell ya! The reason I'm out bombing back roads at 7:30-8am is so there won't be traffic or people to hit, but these guys, MAN they're douchey. I just pass them and purge the blow off valve right next to the herd.

How close are you to Richmond, Chris?

They're all douches around here too. That's yet another reason I miss my Ranger... I had side exit exhaust on it and I used to blow by them wide open, so I could puff some exhaust in their face.

I'm about 40min from Richmond.

Think you might you find some time to hang out for a bit on Thursday the 12th or Friday the 13th? Thursday night we could do some football and a couple of brewskies.

We'll be there to visit a customer but won't have a rental car. I anticipate the meeting to be over by 1pm on Friday and there is some downtime until I need to be at the airport by 5:30pm.

I think Kristen is working Thursday night, so i'm on kid duty. Friday I may be able to pull off, since i'll already be at work so i'll be a little closer to Richmond. It'll just be matter of seeing if I can leave work a little early or not.

Let me double check on Thursday though, because if Kristen isn't working that would probably be more ideal.

Sounds good man. Maybe you can give up a free massage coupon for her to use whenever she wants.
Should we collude and have me post it on your FB page before you ask her so she sees it, too?

No need for all of that. She doesn't care as long as she's off and we don't have something important going on already. I go and meet Matt when he's in Lex pretty often.

Sounds good. Hopefully you're able to get away.

Hey Ben- if you're still around can you answer a question for me? (or anyone else who may have done this before?)

I need to R&R the eccentric bolts on the miata. It shouldn't be a problem to do this without the A arm coming off, right?

Worst nightmare of my life last night:

It was my first day of my Junior year of high school. I was trying to figure out my class schedule, but the stuff they printed it on was indecipherable. As in reality, I felt like I'd pretty much rather be ANYWHERE else. Eventually someone offered me a drink of coolaid with vodka in it and said something snarky, to which I replied "Uh...I'm over 21 dude...I can just go buy my own" and my brain fell apart and realized I should NOT be in high school. Then I woke up.

I have recurring dreams that it's the last week of the semester at college, and I forgot to go to all my classes, but I've never had one about high school. Really weird. WTF is wrong with my mind?!

Thats a nuts-o dream! I have the college one, too except I'm trying to finish my homework on the bus. I make it to class but somehow still don't have my homework and them I remember to go to another class (that I'm now late for) and have forgotten to go to for half of the semester somehow and I'm scared, panicking, and frustrated.

Last night I dreamed someone broke into my garage, stole my good tools, the Firebird, and then the police were telling me that the robbery seemed staged and they didn't believe me.

I didn't dream about anything but sleeping more. The past 2 nights i've only slept 5-6 hours, because for some reason I keep waking up around 5am wide awake. I think part of it is due to allergies, but it's still getting old.

Allergies are freggin' awful this year! They're showing no signs of slowing down either, its making me insane.
Its really too bad we have to all be at work at a specific time (literally, almost everyone). It almost feels like it'd be awesome if you could wake up naturally, which probably wouldn't be later than 7am, and get to the office an hour after that. Rush hour traffic would be a little less rushy, you wouldn't be all ticked off that you've GOT to be up by 5am, and you wouldn't be judged for getting to work at 8:15 or 8:30.
Maybe I should be self employed...

That is one thing that was great about my old job. I pretty much showed up whenever I wanted, which was between 9am-10am.

I don't mind being here at 7:30am, but there are some mornings that I really hate getting up that early. The bonus is though, I get off at 4pm, so it's not too long of a day.

Once Kristen finishes school, i've considered trying to be self-employed again for a bit and finish up my degree. We'll see though, because despite getting up early, I do really enjoy my current job most days.

What did you do when you were self employed?

Leaving early is helpful. Working through/during lunch gives some flex hour opportunity, too.

I was a graphic/website designer for about 2 years and was an independent contractor for a small company here in Lexington. The hours were too unpredictable though and I wasn't making a steady enough pay, which is why I probably would never go back to it. I prefer a M-F job with normal hours, so I know how much i'm going to get paid.

I stay until 5pm some days, but I leave early every now and again too. They're pretty flexible with the schedule if you need to go do something, as long as your work is getting done and you're not taking a bunch of time off.

Yup, just a morning. Nothing good about it except one day closer to payday...

Eff sinuses by the way. Whoever designed human beings needs to get a slap in the face for this obvious oversight.

Not a bad gig, Chris. Its more-or-less the same here.

Question of the day!
All things equal- should I trade my turbo Miata for an E36 M3?
M3 has 120k, new top end, multiangle valve job, new water pump, new belts & gaskets within 1k miles, T3 turbo, intercooler, coilovers, exhaust, roll bar, 225hp.
