Mornin' Guys!

Well I picked up a new riding mower today. I finally gave up on my old one, especially since I picked up this nearly new Yard Machine for $100 more than it would've cost me to fix my old Murray :naughty:

Bummer! How bad is the leak? Like no boost at all or lazy boost building?

What the hell? I had a whole paragraph about the mower that got deleted.

In summation, I was remarking about the good condition the mower was in and if the trailer is yours.
Also pointed out that, as a man, you need the beer bottle holder mod. Stat.

Weird.

The trailer is not mine, although I intend to purchase one soon. The mower is in fantastic shape. A buddy of mine traded a zero turn for it, which he paid $300 for and he sold this one to me for $300 because he never uses it. I paid $280 for my Murray and it's going to cost me $200 to fix it, which doesn't count the other money i've invested in it so far.

Agreed on the beer holder. It will be coming shortly.

You could turn in your Murray for scrap and make a few bucks back on it.
What ultimately failed that costs so much?

I'm planning on putting it on CL for $150 obo. The mower itself is in really good condition and the motor alone is worth $150. If I can get $100 out of it, i'll be happy

It was the variator assembly at the rear of the mower, which controls the drive belt tension. The cheapest I could find one is $200 on eBay and a used one is $150 :squint:

I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a mower I only paid $280 for and could maybe sell for $300 repaired.

Just a small leak, but it pisses me off because it is brand new.I have a feeling that the spring broke.

Yes, I'm curious, too. I have a churbo. It has a slight wastegate leak, but that's mostly because I relocated the rod. But if you have a name brand, send that bastard back!

I'm thinking his is external, he mentioned changing the spring out.

'round these parts, we call the internal version an actuator. Just putting that out there.

Guess I don't understand what you mean Dave. The actuator is only part of the internal wastegate. There is also the rod and flapper assembly.

Cool, I was using the JGS manifold for awhile, thing is a tank! Actually still have it. It's been cut up and rewelded 3 times now for various configurations.

Yeah, but every time I go the the speed shops around here, that's what they call them. Ever since I was first into it around 15 years ago or so I noticed that. Makes sence to me because it's the only part that anyone ever changes out with an internal, as far as I've seen.

Mornin' Ben!

Long weekend ahead for me too! WOOO!

I cut the lawn with the new mower last night and it friggin' rocks. It's so quiet and smooth compared to the other one.

Mornin' Gents!

I wish I could've made TOTD as well. Kristen's work schedule just wouldn't allow it this year though. I was hoping to even just go down for the day, but she has to work all weekend. Ugh.

That's pretty awesome. Once I have a robot body I'll just plug into the OBDVII port and there will BE no line between me and the car.
