I always try to make an easy to prepare, quick dinner since folks always want to get over to Friday's for some purple drank and shens after pregaming and stinking up my room.

We could grill them at the track, that makes sense. Something for the non-seafood eaters.
Would you mind if we snagged a couple of your large serving tins, some plates, and plastic forks from the track, too?

I'm down for helping however necessary. I enjoy cooking so perhaps we could team up and come up with epic shenanigans? I have a small portable grill, but I'm bring the M Coupe so I don't think I'll have enough extra room for that.. :(

I know the feeling, Wes. I'm rockin' the Miata this year and I still want to have room to bring back Yuengling, haha.
The flat top isn't too bad fitment wise, but its the ingredients that are tough to fit, especially since the drive is 8 hours and product should be chilled in a cooler of some kind.

What? The Miata has more than enough room for beers. Choke yourself!

I think his point was that everything else has to fit around a case (or multiple cases) of beers, and that's where things could get tricky.

Morning. Go choke your chickens, the both of you.

The little I bring takes up a lot of space in the tiny car. It also doesn't help that I refuse to drive with the top up which would create *some* space on the rear deck and keep the spare tire for emergencies since there isn't a damn thing for MILES on the rural PA backroads that get me to the event.

I usually bring 1-2 flat tops for cooking, a bulky styro shipping box for the dinner food stuffs (most of the space), forks, plates, serving pan, a pillow (those lodge room pillows BLOW), some tools, and a flexible gum bag for clothes and such. Granted, the food box doesn't come on the return trip, but there still isn't enough room for the amount of Yuenging I'd prefer to bring home.

Life is good here. I wish I didn't enjoy drinking beer so much...makes it impossible to lose weight. Meh...I'm happy that's my biggest concern at this point in life i guess.

Same thing for me. I've been crazy busy the past few weeks with work and projects around the house.

So my wife had to drive my car yesterday and managed to damage it not once, but twice :rotfl

She backed into a car downtown, which was very minor but it put spider cracks in the rear bumper. Then she also managed to not pull the car in the garage far enough, so the garage door got shut on the rear bumper as well. So now I have cracks in the paint AND a huge scratch. Oh well, for once I don't really care either. Unless the paint starts coming off, I won't probably even bother fixing it.

I can't complain here... For whatever reason, since I've been at my current work for the last 3 years NICO has been blocked, but as of like a week ago it's no longer blocked......... So here I am!

Your wife has managed to not destroy something in the Jeep?

Good to see you around some more Wes!

Indeed. I honestly didn't even get slightly upset about it either. There's something about that car that the little things don't even bother me. As long as it starts up every morning and stays solid, a scratch here or there doesn't bother me a bit. That and i've just started to mellow out some I guess. No reason to get worked up over the little things

Yeah, as if I needed something else to distract me during the day. I am on a computer for 8-12 hours a day during work, so I'm not around a lot because about the last thing I feel like doing is spending time on the computer at home after work!

Bummer man. Life goes on. I suppose you'll be sitting in the barber chair at the bar this year.

It seems that if you're not in love with the car, its no biggie. The Subaru has dings and scratches here and there. I'll bring the paint back, but won't be fixing the door dings though it'll still be parked farther away. It sees winter use so my other cars don't have to- it does its job, like you said.

I think that's definitely part of it too. I keep it very clean and maintained well, but I just don't care about minor scratches and dings. I keep it waxed and wash it weekly when it's nice, but it's nothing i'm attached to. It's a damn good car though and i'd probably buy another one, or something similar if I ever had to replace it. It's been one of the best daily drivers i've had in a long time. Oddly enough, the last one was a Ford too.

I've gotta change the oil in it this weekend. I have to eat crow too thanks to this service - I bought a FRAM filter, which I said I would never, ever do again in my life. They're new top of the line filter is hard to ignore for the price though. It was $9 vs the $13 I normally spend on the Bosch Distance Plus filter I normally run, so I figure i'd give it a shot. I do like the sure grip stuff on them and it's rated for 15k miles, so I figure it should be able to survive 7,500 miles.

You're right, the cost of oil filters can get serious. However, you can do what I do with the T/A and Subaru and leave the Mobile 1 filter on there inbetween oil changes. The filters say 12 or 15k, something along those lines so after 6-7k miles I only drain and replace the oil. It really is too bad Fram is the only company with the 'sure grip' tech. Its pretty nifty.

The Miata gets the piss beat out of it, so I actually change its filter. Gotta pay to play.

Im the opposite. I change out my filters inbetween oil changes. I also change my fluids more frequently than most too. The oil can never be clean enough imho. with as much money as I spend on beer etc, hard not to take extra care of my girls ya know.
