You see, Chris has wifeunit1000. She requires a firmware update in order to bring her up to par.WDRacing wrote:Why don't you and the wifeunit2000 take turns on the weekends?4DSC wrote:Usually because we stay up too late and the kid wakes up way too early. Ahh, I didn't know Kris was a shift worker.4DSC wrote:No, usually the kid comes in our room and wants to watch TV in there. If one of us get up with her, she usually still comes back in the bedroom at some point. I also can't sleep well once it's daylight out and i've been woken up once.
Usually I get up with her though, because Kristen has to work most weekends. She also worked night shift Friday night, so she got off about an hour before the kid got up on Saturday, hence why I didn't sleep in on Saturday.
I'm with you on the daylight thing, unless I'm truly BEAT.4DSC wrote:No, usually the kid comes in our room and wants to watch TV in there. Yeah the Jeep needs an oil and filter change, but i've been putting it off right now since we're going to probably be trying to dump it in a couple of weeks.
Whassup man? Saw your new ride- a vast improvement over the Altima. What happened to your Buick? Did you make at least a grand off it?RobPaulson wrote:morning d00ds.
longest 12 straight days of work evar. put in ~25hrs this weekend. need. vacation.
Yep. She works full time(36hrs/wk - 3 12hr shifts). She's an RN at an ER close to the house.WDRacing wrote:Ahh, I didn't know Kris was a shift worker.
I can't even nap if it's daylight out, unless like you said - I have to be truly beat and exhausted.frapjap wrote:I'm with you on the daylight thing, unless I'm truly BEAT.
Why are you offing the Jeep? I thought it has been good to you?
I hear that buddy! I'm basically retired myself, cept I take care of the boys and do all the house b**** stuff. Which by and large isn't that bad. My bad days involve laundry. So Kate brings home all the bacon. When she retires in Oct we'll be doing well I hope. She has a double masters and we have some decent job options up in PA. I keep her happy with footrubs and flowers4DSC wrote: She will make nearly four times what I do now once she finishes her Masters![]()
That's why we both are pretty sold on the RAV4. We plan on driving this next SUV for 100k+ miles, so I want it to last. I never hear anyone hardly ever complain about their Toyota and even though it's a little pricier, it'll be worth more when we do decide to sell it. Believe it or not, the Ford Escape is actually more unless you go for the base models.frapjap wrote:Rav 4 is a pretty capable vehicle They're not the cheapest in the bunch, but it will hold its value better. I especially like that the rear seats can recline and become quite comfortable.
The new Forester or Outback GT are really decent vehicles, too.
I tried the stay at home dad thing and just worked part time. I couldn't do it... I was losing my mind. We share the chores for the most part and I do 80-90% of the cooking. I keep my wife happy too, because she allows us to live a pretty worry free life and we're able to pay down our debts pretty easily.WDRacing wrote:I hear that buddy! There are a few places we're looking at buying, nothing with less than 20 acres and everything has at least a 2 car garage and a out building or pole barn.
The escape can be fitted with a ton of techno-gizmos. Having a fully loaded one as a rental is nice, but the inclusions get boring after a while.4DSC wrote:That's why we both are pretty sold on the RAV4. I was thinking about a Scooby, but i'm a little hesitant due to them having timing belts and the head gasket issues. Maybe i'm just worrying a little too much?
I'm so coming to your house when you get land.WDRacing wrote:I don't want neighbors. I'd like to be able to shoot right on my own property.
