Well here they closed the federal government, most of the local governments and all the schools, and all while the roads were perfectly drivable. The sidewalks were a little slushy, but as long as you put on your galoshes, you were fine. People need to grow up here and buy some weather-appropriate gear already. Washingtonians are spoiled snobs.

Pretty embarrassing when an entire city shuts down based on an overhyped forecast. They blew the same forecast here in Philly too, but Philly learned their lesson the hard way a few years ago and stayed open this time.

A few years ago overzealous local weather guy (John Bolaris) forecasted a "storm of the century" here. Snow crews were activated, news crews dispatched everywhere, Schools closed, the local gov't shut down only to get no snow at all.

Yeah, I checked back on the last few pages and saw how far apart the posts were compared to the olden days. I have just been working too much to post much on here. I still keep in contact with the folks on here that I know in person through facebook, but thats about it. Still have the AC (meh) but it's a great car, and it's paid off.

Actually popped on here to see if there was a thread about Carlisle this year. I missed last year unfortunately, but am definitely trying to swing through this year again. I need my yearly dose of NICO peeps.
