i heard the extended batteries suck, bang for ur buck, you're better off getting a stock spare battery, they are smaller than that extension (if you take into consideration the added volume of that entire back panel and compare it to the size of the stock battery), and you can just toss it in ur other pocket or glovebox. and, you'll get more overall life out of 2 stocks than that 1 extended.

also, a car charger is def necessary. running the GPS+Nav with full display DECIMATES the battery life. No way you'd make more than a 3hr trip without it dying LOL

i'll vouch for that, i ran the navigation from madison back to chicago and it was full when i left and it died right when i get there, which was about 2 hours...do you have a regular car charger or the actual google/nexus car charger?

i wanna get the offical car dock that comes with a car fast charger.

i just bought a cheap-o radio shack 'blackberry' charger. they r all mini usb <shrug>

the charge does suck off it though, if i'm at say 80%, and using navigation, it will just barely keep the battery at 80%, i have seen it drop . . . while plugged in.

i dont use the google dock because i use a seido innocase II. i hate the neoprene sleeve because i like to see use my phone for media while i drive (mp3 player etc) and the sleeve just makes hoping in and driving or answering a call a PITA. (I know, driving and playing with ur phone is dangerous anyway, but the sleeve made it unbearable)

if i could somehow justify not using a case for my $540 device, i'd be using a google dock at work and in my car in a heartbeat. but i cant, so i dont :gotme

I use a generic verizon micro usb charger in my car. It seems to work fine, but I never use navigation on the phone since I have it in the car. I just occasionally check google maps.

i feel ya homie...we did make an investment with these damn things, lol....i got mine fully ghostarmored for $30, came with a lifetime warranty and protects the entire phone plus it's easy cleanup...i also use the sleeve when i'm not using it, it's kind of ghey when i pull it out in public ( that's what she said) cause people start asking what that is and i'm like "oh it's my case and yada yada....ghey ghey.

Gerry, I don't think you bought a mini usb charger. That wouldn't work with your phone. Pretty sure you meant micro usb.

Mini on the left, micro on the right:

I feel like phones should not need a case...you paid $$$$$ for it, s*** shouldn't break if you breathe on it wrong.

And Lou, with the screen being so large and required for use, I enjoy the peace of mind of having a case. Sometimes I forget what is in my pockets when I put my phone in there. Last thing I want to do is destroy the beautiful screen on my device.

I'm so paranoid about putting my phone in my pocket, that it's gotten to the point that my right side pocket is used exclusively for my phone haha.

Yea, my set up is keys, chapstick, etc. in my left pocket, phone in my right pocket, and wallet in my back right pocket. No scratched screens for me!

I've always rocket the phone in left front pocket, keys/change in right front and wallet in right rear. Hasn't failed me yet. And I've always had a case of some sort on the phone. I've found this keeps the shell in better shape and helps provide better resale value if needed.

Edit: chapstick? You felt the need to specify that? H0m0!

left pocket is strictly phone, id, debit card and keys in right pocket....oh so i can't find anywhere where they are selling oem nexus one batteries because the google store is closed to consumers...i just found out the htc desire is practically a nexus one but it uses the sense ui and therefore it has the exact same battery...boom! time to get a desire battery as a backup.

I ALWAYS have Burt's Bee's chapstick on me. It's become one of those things I don't leave the house without.
