Taniguchi did it to his own personal S15 in japan. but imo its just for show/rice.

Definitely not something I would spend money on but I think it's pretty cool for what its worth.. Lots will say rice, and I'm the first to admit to my dislike of the slightest bit of rice, but its not really degrading any preformance. Probably only adds a few pounds for the dampers that hold the doors up.. If you want to do it f'in do it.

Lamborghini's are from Italy so wouldn't you have to call it pasta or something?

A friend of mine put lambo doors onhis srt 4. Judges at car shows give you more style points for that. I personally think its not worth the money unless your looking for an all show car and enter car shows and stuff like that.

First, it's your car, do what you want.Second, why would you want to make a 240 something it's not. If you want lambo doors go buy a Lamborghini. Enjoy the 240 for what it is, both stateside and jdm, and what it was meant to be.

Isn't this Ironic. It's your car, do whatever you want but why are you doing it, is basically what you are proposing. Why would you put different rims on your 240? Why don't you keep your stock one. Why do you put 97 taillights on your 95 240? Why do you put a S13 SR into your S14 240? None of those statements differ from why would you want to mae a 240 something it's not. It's a car, you mod it up just because it's your hobby. And only because you don't like something that you CAN'T afford, doesn't mean it's rice. I know you *** are poor as fawk, therefore, you go on and hate other people because they get nicer mods than you. Society these days....you shouldn't be driving an Import if you keep that attitude, go get a mustink or something, then you can bad mouth the imports all you want. Damn rice this and rice that, I'm sick of hearing that stupid word. You all should stick to your own kind.

I seriously thought that the lambo doors started being used by people who had lowered their cars to the point where the doors would scrape/hit curbs after parallel parking. For those of us who live in cities where parallel parking happens a lot, I dont think its rice. Not that I'd do it, but still.

Okay, rice, pasta, high carb diet ... call it what you want, but it can serve a purpose. Even though it isn't an inexpensive modification, it you lower your car to a certain level, opening the door could be troublesome. If you are in a parrellel parking spot (common here), with a lowered car, you could clap your door against the curb that it is adjacent to. If anyone is familiar with Miami-Dade County, normal parking stalls are 8.5' standard width. This would leave a maximum distance of 1.5' from the other car (if they know how to park inbetween the lines). Vertical door conversion could fix either problem, and the inherant purpose Lamborghini had designed them for the Early Contach (sp?).

oh yea, "rice" is soooo overused. but if its so ricey, why did alot of big-name japanese companies (the ones we idol and drool over) put all these lambo kits on thier cars at the tokyo auto salon? im sure you guys have seen magazine coverage, THEY WERE EVERYWHERE. in my opinion being differant isnt rice. rice is putting in a climate control from a japanese car because its JDM. JDM is rice. just because something is differant doesnt mean it negatively effects the car...

i think the word rice basically needs to be delted from the vocabulary of people on the boards and boards on other cars, peopel say this and that is rice, when in all actuality, A:they most likely have it on their car and wont admit it, or B: were at one point wanting to do it, or C: get a HONDA which i guys to most of you is rice

actually i wouldnt mind lambo doors. i think they are neat. the thing i dont like is when the car gets a little over done such as bright colored paint, many graphics/stripes, huge spoilers. i dont like when it gets too flashy but i think something like lambo dorrs would look pretty cool on a car like mine with rims and lowered. as long as its clean

I dont call it rice, I just call it poor taste. "JDM" stuff isnt in poor taste, because most of the stuff is either a) OEM equipment, b) very clean or c) just not availible in the US.

I really dont care whats in the tokyo auto salon, unless its performance parts for my car. I dont care what car its on or what show it is at, if its ugly to me, its ugly to me. If its a useless show peice, its a useless show peice. Some things have real world aplication, or can be "done right", but for the most part its stuff that makes me want to shake my head when i see it on the street. Myself, I dont think lambo doors are bad, I would put them on my car if the price was right (which it isnt).

This whole "JDM is rice" thing is just another glaring example of the anti-popularity trend (such as the anti-SR trend as of late). So what if people like to buy parts that you dont see every day? Are you going to hate them for it?

I think your "useless show piece" is about on the same line. Vertical Doors (a.k.a. Laborghini Doors) aren't useless.

Woot for J-Spec! He hit the nail on the head...I couldn't care less who made a part, what car it was on, or what japanese beauty was draping herself across the hood. I want to know if the part will make my car go faster, stop quicker, or handle better. Besides that it just doesn't matter. Looks are irrelevant on a street car, its just going to get the doors dinged at Wally World anyway.

I agree but i do care who makes the parts i buy, quality is an important factor of performance. For example i boycott APC and other generaly low quality manufacture's. Nothing wrong with something different such as lambo doors if I was truly happy with the performance of my car id start on making it look how I want it to look. Just my opinion.

i agree 100% with Nathan and Sliding, i dont really care about who makes the product as long as it helps my performacne in the long run, but however i do want to purchase quality parts, and there are those companies that just dont cut that, in my book

I like them, and i'd personally get them if i had the money...but first i need to pay for my brakes, a new set of rims, i'd like an LSD, then bodywork/bodykit...and then maybe i'd think about it

and dont flame me for having/getting a new body kit...i have a big i/c that wouldnt get put to full use w/o a bigger air duct on the front bumper, and it looks stupid w/o the rest of the kit IMO (which is what i'm sporting now :(
