They will hold up fine.

But this is one of those questions you ask before you buy.

I liked my AGX's for the first few months, after that they got kind of bouncy, though I way over lowered them, not to mention I did a lot of booning. I think matched with a decent spring like the Tein's you will be happy. A good friend has the same setup on his S13, he says they are too stiff, but after driving the car I enjoyed them.

I've been running my AGX/ Tein setup for 3 years now (28k miles) without any problems.

For a cheap, reliable, and decent setup they work great especially for the crappy roads we have here.

With my SR the car sits a little higher than I'd like, but that'll soon be fixed with something along the lines of Stance coilovers.

Don't forget dust boots for your shocks.

I just bought a set, put them on Tien springs, drove 6 miles and a rear strut blew. I'm getting a new one for $140, and when KYB verifies that the seal went, I get my $140 back.

Just curious, what do you all set yours at? I'm at 3 in front and 6 in the back, I was thinking about stepping it up to 4 and 8.

I have my agx's paired with S2's. They're good for ride quality, not so much in the aesthetics department. Looking back I would definitely rather have saved up a few more buck's and just went ahead and gotten coils, then again I didn't pay for it all at once. I read that 3f 6r is the best for strut longevity, take that for what its worth. Let me know how you like them.

I have seen a couple of people with KYB AGX shocks, but I have never owned them.

Does anybody know if the tokico blues are better than these or what?

Yeah, with wheels that big, your car really has to be low to pull it off, but it looks damn good

how much did the 5 lug swap cost you not including wheels?

im really thinking about the AGX and some springs, but i cant decide between a strut and spring combo or some lower end coils

idk how much benefit ill see from saving up longer and getting expensive coils and struts and springs in the begining to hold me off

one thing i really like about coils is that they are ajustable, but from what im reading in this thread, the AGX shocks are ajustable? im really lost lol

The dampning is the only thing ajustable, not the ride heith.

Save 400 more and get stance coils.

QFT. I have always hated my AGX+S tech combo. The ride is too punishing for the tiny amount of drop you get. If I had it to do all over again, I'd go with Megan or Stance coils in a heartbeat.

Sigh... Why do I always rush to chime in on this every single time somebody asks this same question over and over again...

I installed my agx and s-tech combo about a week ago. I have been driving with them for about 3 days. They are pretty good. I switched out my JIC coils for the agx because the streets where I live are too rough for them. the coils were soo much more fun, but the agx are not too bad. only complaint is that my car is a bit too low....

Haha, the wheels really dont look big on a s14, they look perfect in size. My car is an SE so its suppose to come with 5 lug... but the dbad who I bought it from a long time ago did a 4 lug conversion off a s13 lol, I did the whole 5 lug conversion for 60 bucks though including front spindle, LCA`s etc. Also the only reason i got these over coils is because seemed like the 200 dollars I was getting them for wasnt bad. I think I got a good deal on everything suspension though. Heres what it looked like before SR swap, complete strip to bare metal everything.

I agree, s14's have to be low to pull of 18's, but your car looks ALOT better with them.

I guess.....my front lip is also 2 inches off the ground.....any lower and daily driving that car would be impossible....

In context of how small the drop is, YES. I don't think the spring rates match the valving well at all. My s14 is lowered on Tokico Blues/Eibach Pro's. It's lower than the s13 AND rides ALOT better.

Yeah, I have 18's on my car and compared to the way I had the coilovers set up , the car is just a little bit lower now.

I hate to keep this thread off topic, but since your obviously on coils, did you need a spacer in front? And wow it looks way better with a little tuck in the front.Ryan

I did not need spacers with the coils, I did need them when I switched to the AGX.

I have AGX's sitting here in my living room... I will get them on my car sooner or later...

I see that some of you have yours set at 4R and 8F (Firmest settings right?) and I was wondering if that would shorten the life as compared to the 3R 6F that someone else said? (Or maybe that is backwards, whatever)

What do you have yours set at? After they are installed I want to set them correctly.

What spacers are you talking about?
