ok..i have a 1991 Q45 with the active suspenion, there is 105200 miles on it and i just had the alinement done on it, when i start the car i can feel the car moving and then the ausus light comes on and stays on until i shut off the car. When i'm driving i'm hearing a rapping noise under the car towards the front, this happens also when i stop and make left or right turn too. Yesterday i kept on braking to see if i can find the noise, i can't find where it comming from, also the guy who was doing the work on the car heard the noise to and he could find it, and one more thing should i be feeling a rough ride, because i am..if that will help you in helping me.

What should i do???

I hunted for (and finally found) a similar noise on my wife's 92 Q45a. It was the bolts that hold the tension arm front mount (the steel frame part) on to the main frame. It was difficult to locate.

The ACTSUS light can be caused by many things. First check the oil level in the reservior. Then run the diagnostics: With car off, turn the key to 'on" all the warning lights on, engine not running. Within 10 seconds of turning the key on, move the 'N/H' switch fron N to H and back 10 times. The active system computers should go into a self test mode which will find any electrical malfunction in the system--including low oil level. When the self test is done, the display starts blinking in a series of short and long pulses. shorts are 'ones', and longs are 'tens' five longs followed by 5 shorts is '55' which is no faults found.

Refer to the service manual for the codes or send them to me.

99% od the problems on active cars are from 'flat' accumulators. the rest are mostly low oil. I supply rebuild accumulators for these cars

You have to do the procedure again. Make sure you are following the directions to the letter.

It worked for me after I did it a few times. :)

Are you sure you are moving it 10 times both directions.. when I first checked mine.. it appeared by the instructions that I needed to turn it 10 times.. but you actually need to make 20 movements.. ten times n to h n and make sure the car is in the "on" position where all the lights on the dash come on.. not just the radioChristopher Vigil

Three new customer with Q45a came in in the last 2 weeks. All are relatively new owners no more than 15 months and are making payments. All slammed with pump problems or blown struts. The elephant graveyard. They all are saving up to get a conversion [$1200]. So low the belly pans have been destroyed.Must be emotionally hard to be a used car salesman but you gotta feed your family.

Do you really think any used car salespeople possess a conscience? I'm sure the thought process is: "Hey, they got it cheap, what's the beef?"

Just got the car back from Infiniti dealership and here is the list: the active pump failure, valve covers leaking oil/fuel & Coolant bypass hose under intake with V/covers, A/T oil pan leaking from drain plug, actuators internal leakage All 4 & rear control vale. So many things, what should I do.

A/T oil pan leaking from drain plug? Did they at least try to tighten it, or is there a hole in it? The valve covers and hoses you can DIY if you decide to keep the car, though the hoses alone will cost a lot. Not sure what to say about the act sus work needed.

Hi Texasoil, where exactly is this reservoir located and do you mean (the) oil for the actsus?

Driver's side under the hood.. closest to the fender.. right next to the lip of the hood..has a small dipstick towards the front, and a filler cap behind it (towards the cab).its pretty obvious.. lines the edge of the engine bay

That's cool, I know the one now.Well. my Actsus light is on 10-15 secs after starting the car. I tried running the diaganostics check but haved botched every attempt so far.I will try again. The rear right strut has a leak but i don't think it's a Nitrogen leak because the fluid is the same consistency as in the reservoir.Problem is, the reservoir level meets the hot level on the dipstick.Would it be a bad thing to fill the reservoir RIGHT to the top and bleed it through the system.I have tightened up nuts etc around the strut and will keep close eye on it, to see if there is further leaks.

Does anyone know if you can retrofit R32/R33 Skyline Suspension on a Q45 because there is a couple of cheap 2nd hand sets going for sale around here (New Zealand).

Any and all help is appreciated.

You can't get the test to run?turn the car on until you get to the second click, where the fan runs.. now move the active switch labeled n-h back and forth more than ten times ending on the "n" all the powerlights will have been on on the dash (acc lights).. then the ACTSUS light will go blank then begin to blink..try it again.. turning more than ten times is no harm.. just make sure you end on N

Going off your other postings re the "41" code christopher-infiniti, I guess I should add more detail about my car.It had it's engine replaced 2 days ago, and the Actsus light was not on when it went in for this job.It was only after that the light came on.Where is this pump located because I will endeavour to see if there is a hose that is not connected or if maybe there is air in the system. In your opinion, if there is air in the system would it be easy to bleed it out?
