Do NOT subsitutute ATF!

Call Joe for fluid shipped to your location:1-888-216-5328

He is a member here who works as a parts man at a dealer.Tell him your a NICO member for a discount.

Also there are acouple of members here with manuals for sale. The factory manuals (even the small boxed ones) are MUCH superior to any chiltons.

Please use only the Nissan Active Suspension Fluid. It IS the best for the system. ATF will ruin the seals fairly quickly and is much too thick. A poor substitute is MIL-H-5606 Aircraft Hydraulic Fluid (RED) It costs about $30/gal here in the states at airport supply houses.

Forgive me for sounding terse, but if you do not know where the active system pump is located, please first get out the service manual and look in the front suspension section and studythe active system section thoroughly.

It simply is not feasible to provide a complete tutorial via email. The system is much too sophisticated for you to undertake any diagnostics or repairs at yor present level of knowledge.

The active suspension pump is co-located with the power steering pump. Two different pumps in a divided housing, driven by a common crankshaft.

Texsoil,

I ran the diagnostic and got a 41 which is the pump failure, you guys said, i checked the fluid and it was low, i filled it up and the car goes up when i start the car, (but it always did that) i'm still getting 4 shorts and 1 long when i do the diagnostic, what could be the problem? also the car is still knocking but not like it was before. The dealer said it was a pump failure, but if it was a pump failure would the car rise?

Instead of total pump failure think worn and lower pressure as a result of not changing the fluid all these years. Now you get to change all the seals.

I learned this the hard way years ago with a fleet of bucket trucks and heavy machinery........Annual fluid changes of everything.
