Where did you put the fluid in? Reservoir or strut?

Resevoir.. as far as I know.. texasoil and maybe someone who has the equipment could refill the struts with nitrogen.. but as far as I understand it.. the active system works on this special hydraulic fluid, but if its low, there is air in the lines.. the hydraulic fluid takes a while to get all the air out..

Did you get the video to work of how to work the Active Diagnostics and get the Active Suspension Codes?

The fluid in my reservoir looks just like Trans fluid. Would it wreck the system to put Trans fluid in it?Do you have the exact name of the Active fluid you put in it?I get your vids thanks, and I take it IS the pump as you reckon; Code 41.Tell me, since I have your video to refer to.Can you tell me what your Diagnosis read

OK dude.. read my post! It is entitled "OK, Another Active Problem Codes"

I am in the same boat as you.. as it says there I have a code 45 now.. was a 41.. people posted and told me that pump could mean that the pump is low on fluid.. or it could mean that you need a new pump $1500 or it could mean that the "pump" sensor is bad.. for me.. I poure a bunch of fluid in there.. and it worked.. it took a couple days to realize how much I needed.. and to find the fluid.. the fluid is Active Suspension Fluid and I believe it is specific to Infiniti.Peace.

Cheers, don't mean to run you over what you've already mentioned. After you put all that fluid in, did the Actsus light still come on?(I hope this isn't mentioned in your other thread)

The light came on for a while.. then I drove around for a while.. and BOOM the car started riding like every bump was an earthquake.. then after driving it a while. it settled out and started to ride like an active suspension should after the nitrogen goes out of the struts..

My situation went from a "Slammed Suspension" (as though someone took the struts out and it only rode on springs (old horse drawn buggy), then I put some fluid in and for a couple of days, it rode like it was crappy (pickup truck when suspension starts to go), but that there were struts, then I filled up the active fluid, drove it for about 30 minutes, and it started riding like every bump was a rock in the road, felt at each wheel, then after a little while and fluid filled half way up in the resivoir.. it rode like it needs recharged accumulators..The ACTSUS light stopped coming on when I put about 2 containers of fluid in it, and drove it for a while..

Please note.. this car needs to be running for the fluid to be accurate..

Feel free to ask any more questions.. I am just learning, and all the moderators and such keep telling me I need to get a book.. but this is just what I have learned in the past week or so...If I am wrong, just trying to help out in any way I can.

Peace

Just the dealer.. there are two dealers in my area.. I had to get one at one dealer and two at the other.. that was all they had..T3.. an infiniti shop near by.. where Q45Tech works at.. they hooked me up with about half a bottle.. just because they are REALLY nice guys

These bottles are like space age looking, they are made only by infiniti and come in a box, and it comes with a flexi-straw (tube) to not spill any of this $25 fluid.

That's cool, I'm pretty much in the same situation.New Zealand has next to no Infinitis in the country.I do have a manual, but it's a Chiltons Nissan/Infiniti Repair Manual and doesn't cover diagnostic.I'm just trying to get as much knowledge off this Forum.

What colour was the fluid?I'm considering substituting it with Trans fluid. This special Infiniti Fluid may be just a marketing ploy.

91Q45, I reckon you should look at maybe substituting your struts for aftermarket other Nissan model suspension. As it is, that top control arm I believe is very similar to Skyline suspension, because when I had the the bushes replaced in mine, the ones that went in were for a GTR.there has been some 2nd hand suspension going for sale around here (NZL), and I'm wondering if it would take much to bolt them in; Tein/GAB.-Thoughts anyone?

Example of suspension change I have seen; JIC coilovers intended for S14 200SX(Silvia) placed in A31 Cefiro.

I would wait for a response from Texasoil or Q45Tech..

I have a feeling that if they were here tonight seeing this dialogue, they would be giving answers like.. "search for active" and "search for texasoil"

JBQ45-

The Infiniti Type A fluid is bright green when new, if it overheats it may be darker. It is thicker than transmission fluid.

YOU CAN NOT RUN THE SYSTEM WITH TRANS FLUID. Pardon my yelling, but I just saw the post! It will ruin the seals, and maybe it already has.

However, you could have aircraft fluid, such as Shell Aeroshell. It's red, and slightly thicker than the green Infiniti fluid, or the green Citroen Fluid.

You need to analyse (spelling just for you) this right away. Go to a Citroen dealer if you are near one, or to an aircraft mechanic, and see what you've got. If its Aeroshell or equivalent, I would think you are OK, it may give you a slightly harder ride. If it's ATF, then you are in for a conversion, I fear.

Good luck!
