In Germany, the term was used for both turbo and supercharging during WWII and beyond. Both use the system of compressing air into the intake. In fact, most early turbo systems were known as turbosupercharged. As turbos became more prevalent, many shortened it to just turbocharged. (I'm a history teacher).

If you look at many of today's superchargers, they are VERY similar to a turbo, just driven by a belt rather than by exhaust gases.

well I didnt know that thanks teach

well kinda I didnt know the superturbo part, I've contemplated making a supercharger from a turbo cartridge just for shyt and giggles may do it with the spare I have but IDK sems too much work would be involved, for a s/c system in general... lol a s/c seems crazy now I'm boosted, this t25 spools so fast rain driving is very nerve testing, anything more than 1/3 throttle and boost comes on with tires blazing directly after, even 5th

Hmm. I had always thought turbosupercharged was the same as twincharged. I guess a centrifugal supercharger resembles a turbocharger.. but not a roots or 'screw' type.

But let me ask you this: Did any mercedes benz ever come with a turbocharger and a badge saying 'kompressor' on the back?

No it's a Renova panel, it'a full carbon fiber panel sold by Phase2Motortrend. Same basic design as Garage Defend, but a lot less, does the same job.

That 'backwards' motor is normal. The picture was just mirrored. Look at the accessories, fuse boxes, and other items. 2+2=4

EZ you may be good at arithmetic but wth are you thinking man! That picture is definitely not a reflection of a ka-t(engine, with the bay and everything else normal), or some photoshop trick. Thats a legit pic, i still cant say for sure what it is however.

I figure since i have a ka-t i might as well toss my pics up here too. Took me a year to get it to this point. Enjoy!

Dude, LOOK at the picture. Look at the fuse box. It's on the opposite side. Along with the coolant overflow tank.....Also, look at the fuel rail. Then look at the fuel line. It's going to the 'wrong' side of the car. If that was a 'normal' picture, the fuel line would have to go back over the engine, and then down.

Someone tell me I'm not crazy. Just take a second and look at it.. I'm gonna fight this one until someone proves me insane....

Just to make double sure.. Here's the pic again.

There it is mirrored. And a NORMAL engine bay. A lot of cell phones mirror images automatically if you have a flip-phone closed, it assumes your taking pictures of yourself... haha

Altima KA in a 240? Why would when you get a RWD KA for so little?

I made those things man! They turned out so sweet.. Cost me less than 10 bucks . Just used 3/8ths inch brake line that you can pick up from any parts store and bent it myself. I offered to loan out the tool to any of the regular ka-t guys but no one took me up on it. Check out this thread if you want some more info. Its in the FAQ too ---> zerothread/300407

Damn, good at arithmetic, AND observant! I had no idea about the cell phone thing, makes sense now.

frsh13, your not gona be the only one with those manifolds for long! Im getting one too ^^. AMS made another batch for us and we should have them in another month or maybe a little longer. Cant freaken wait..
