Yo Razi...

Since you're a KAT noob, congrats on getting it done btw, I was hoping you would be looking into the legality, or illegality I have no qualms either way, to get your car inspected. I'll be bringing my S14 to CA in August and I'll either be boosted or completely stock depending on how difficult it is to be boosted in that POS state.

If a boosted 240 is trouble I'll probably just paint it, lower it and sell it in CA. Whatever I get next will be boosted from from the factory, maybe a Z31.

Anyone else can chime in as well. I can get anything to pass smog, I just don't know what else to expect...f*** CARB.

Even if you could pass smog, if you don't have the emission devices that came with it from the factory, you'll fail visual inspection.

If you could somehow manage to keep the emission stuff I'm not sure if the fact that you have a turbocharger will fail you.

Any of us that passed smog while KA-T had a tech "pass" us.

If you make friends with a smog tech, I guess you could "convince" them to pass your KA-T. :gapteeth:

I want to keep my S14 pretty bad. But I have 3 kids and it's my daily. 2 of those kids require car seats. So I'd have to teach my wife to drive stick. Knowing that the least time I tried she ruined my 2nd gear syncro. She's just not that coordinated.

It's hard for me not to look at the Caddy CTS-V since it has 4 doors, LSx motor, RWD, 6 spd option and I'm 36 these days. I don't drift...

wd, usually to get a tech to "pass" your car, it costs about 300. there is a guy i go to, and as long as it passes out of the tail pipe, and your a cool guy (like me) he will pass it. although he passed my toyota which didnt pass out of the tail pipe. he ran it in the computer as a v8 and when he did the idle test, the computer read 900rpm and the truck stayed at 2200 lol

Put together some 2x6/1x6 ramps for the cars today, way more work than I expected when I started.

Indeed. Have to have them as I can't get a jack under any car when its on the ground, even the G35 with stock suspension. And got tired of using random 2x4s.

That gives me an idea to make shallow ramps out of wood to raise my car so I can get on my plastic ones.

I got my SR intake box today!
Came with the stock cold-air intake pipe thingy too!

so i bought my christmas present today. got my self an ingrasoll rand dual hammer impact gun that is the quiet version. it makes 610 ft lbs and should be a monster. had some gift cards for sears and thought... well if i buy one, i might as well get a good one that will last for ever and be a champ. so i bought the best one they have. i have two others, but they are weak sauce

Happy New Year! I work 3rd shift tonight, tomorrow, and Monday :( I hope I never have to meet emissions on my 240, but some of the places we're looking to move to in the next few years might require it. Guess I'll have to make friends with a tech too.
