Im sure he would give you the group buy price still.

Even though they are sold out from K&N. Unless he bought extra?

They produced 40 intakes. I cant believe they are all gone.

Sent an email right after the post...waiting for reply...really hoping that they just overlooked sending the email rather than overlooking sending the intake

...and as I'm typing I get a response saying that mine is shipping out today...yey!

It'll be at my house but I won't have it until I get there which should be late Thursday or Friday night. So you will probably be enjoying yours before I ever get to see mine. Then depending on tools required for the install, it might be another week until I can get it installed. In which case I won't have it at the MD meet. I'm just happy that I'll have it at some point though, so don't think I'm complaining or anything like that.

I drove my car home from my parents house about 20 miles. No issues to report yet.

Umm things that were wrong with the instructions. Let me see.

Step 3 - Remove 3 bolts that secure engine cover.

Tools needed - 3mm and 5mm allen - Had no use for either allen keys. The engine cover was bolted on with a 4.5 mm allen key.

Next

Step 8 - Remove the factory airbox. The front of the factory airbox did not come loose right away. there was a hose attached to it. My dad said the hose looked like a transmission vent hose. This was not in the instructions and they did not suggest a place to put the hose after completion.

Next

Steps 10 -11 were slightly confusing. The only way to build the rubber mount contraptions was to look at the diagram, after a few attempts we were able to build them.

Next

Step 17 - Installing screws to secure Maf sensor (Side note) - They provided hardware and i neglected to use it. I just used the stock screws. We realized this after we finished the install and there were 2 shiny screws left. This maybe the 3mm allen key mentioned above. I did not test but they were really small.

Next

Step 20 - Install the provided edge trim to the heat shield. This part is garbage and really made the heat shield look trashy.

Next

Step 21 - Installing the heat shield. There was no mention of where to install the provided hardware. There is some sort of gold coil located next to the strut tower. That is where i installed it.

Next

Step 28 - Attach carb sticker. If im not mistaken there was no carb sticker. And the intake is not carb exempt.

All and all the install went very smooth. When i first pulled out of the drive way the intake roared and shocked me. I was like dang that is loud.

thats safe mode for your, I don't remember the procedure to stop it. maybe resetng the ecu or disconecting the negative battery terminal

nope no drilling or cutting anything on the car. You do may have to trim the heat sheild rubber a little bit. i had to take off about a cm.

i've just disconnected the battery but its still giving me the same response.

also for people that installed this intake could you take pictures of how you mounted the heat shield because my heat shield isn't mounted tight enough maybe its the way i put the screws ? the instructions that came with the intake wasn't well written

when i finished i had 4 items left over. All of which i have accounted for. 2 of the screws were for the maf sensor, and the other 2 were the rubber washers for mounting the heat shield. i will put them in next year when i need to get my emission test done.

so i installed my intake today and my thoughts are pretty good so far. it sounds great and feels a bit more responsive.

so far my cons were the instructions. granted the install is pretty straight forward, but the instructions are alittle vague at times. the nozzle for the crank case hose broke off, luckily there was enough left that we could screw it in still. other than that no problems. i havent driven it to much yet but well see what happens.

but so far im happy.

The rubber washers are part of the heat shield mounting brackets.

How did i get the rubber around the heat shield? With my hands - sorry - not sure what you are asking.i had to slightly trim it. I used the center of a pair of snips to cut it.

As noshift said i do feel that after installing the intake the car is more responsive. i also agree the instructions stink - if you read above you can see my rant about them.

Did you break that plastic piece that ties into the intake tube?that sucks - try to get a new one
