Harmonic balancer is used to lower crankshaft harmonics/torsional vibration. When an engine fires the piston stroke causes the crankshaft to deflect and cause vibrations. Lowering these vibrations can improve timing and longevity.

the oil kit is $430.00 USD on stillens website

grounding kit is like 60-80, but we'll say 100 for this estimate so.....

ati balancer is.... $1200 bux?!

im assuming he got a lot of parts on discount, and the $5k price is w/ installation.

either way- i cant wait to c pics :)

I hope you have partial sponsorship for what seems to be, arguably ... overkill

The balancer is probably overkill, but it is pretty cool. Takes a whole lot of HP before crank vibrations become an issue.

Mmhm. Resonance causes stress in the shaft over time, the dampener alleviates it.

i hope you have modded your car already and that these aren't the first mods you got for the car..... I would get wheels before a bbk for example. Plus do you really need an oil cooler kit on an altima?

That's what I was thinking. I never felt the need for one during hardcore hour long autoX sessions so unless he's turboing his car it's pretty much useless. my alti never went into limp mode like the 370z because of oil temps

ok first teins are 1577 big brakes and rears rotors are 1500 with pads gt tuner 250ish (which if u keep reading im gonna review )oil cooler 480ish grounding kit 100 then labor to put it all in at slidewayz motorsports in palisades park nj ;)(its a friends shop had to have some promotion for it) total about 5 g
Bullydog gt tuner first review
install easy 10 mins tops one wire to a key on power source and an hdmi cable to the reader and plugs into the obd2 port tune after setting my parameter it took 5-7 mins to download and tune the car WARNING: if u get this do NOT turn off the WOT wide open throttle restrictor it wil damage your engine over time only use it at the track and change oil after using it about 3 times
first impression it felt too simple like it gave me a feeling like thats it until i turned the car on and immediately noticed a difference the car idled smoother then it used to be with my current mods took it out on the street and when i opened it up immediately notice a significant gain in power. it also display parameters such as intake temp battery coolant throttle position air fuel ratio and such adjust timing a little more while driving and noticed the gain again
overall i would reccomend anyone with a 3.5 go to summit racing and get this part
to answer some of your questions i do have mods they are stillen catback exhaust racing line mid pipe aem cold air intake stillen pulley jet mass air flow sensorand some other things that im gonna keep secret lol i also have suspension parts too but there unimportant to this review and i am able to get these parts cause i dont really have to worry about money im not trying to brag about it but its easier to get these parts all at once and get it all done at once my car is the real deal as i have hung out with some members of the forum before and u can friend request me on facebook at www.facebook.com/altima5507 my name is stavros georgiou :dblthumb:

wtf, I didn't know the BullyDog had this? I assume this is what limits the CVT going above 90mph? Or does this have something to do with RPM and no limiter? I'll have to play with the tuner some to find this setting.

Yes, not fully but I guess I saw "WOT" and due to the abbreviation thought it was something else and didn't read details. I will say the whole 3 oil change thing sounds a little off.

the cars throttle response over/past 90mph is limited by like 30-40% if you keep it going, it takes forever to get to 113, or higher for the vq. removing the wot will allow you to accelerate as you would from 40-60 but from 90+

whether its good for the engine/transmission is a whole other thing. its limited for a reason, and nissan, with safety in mind, did this on purpose, longer life of the car, and safer to consider.

i recommend keeping wot at factory settings, raising rev limiter, and 'erasing' the governor. you will still notice an increase of power, while keeping the car running at a safe level

my 0.02 :)

Code: Select all

raising rev limiter
Doesn't work for some reason. So it makes me wonder if removing WOT actually works or not. I'll test it out later.

And it's not as if the car will explode the moment you remove it. lol... It's more to do if you just get on the car hard as hell in a constant fashion at very high speeds I'd imagine.

you can it but my friend whos a mechanic says not to it will over time destroy the engine much quicker then normal and the oil change thing comes from him too hes got 20yrs experience and build numerous ful race cars every year

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the oil issue. I get that OVER TIME your engine will degrade more quickly with WOT on but as 2008AltiCoupeDan said, throttle is reduced by a certain percentage so one would assume that would apply to the oil change cycle being reduced by the same percentage but DEFIANTLY NOT after only 3 uses. It just sounds totally incomprehensible. That makes it sounds as if the oil just completely burns up. We're in 270-300hp cars, not Nascars.
