You can get whoever you want to look at your stationary car and tell them whatever. In fact, Im taking my Frontier to a show this weekend, and putting a NOS sticker and 500 hp club banner on the windshield. Because other people see , its true right?

I'm not just listening to the idea that other people say it can't be done. I'VE BEEN THERE BROSEF! Ricky and I have gone through 3 transmissions combined in our coupes. Had them torn apart, new pieces machined and replaced parts. They just dont survive. We gone through all the measures of transmission cooling, temp control and monitoring, and in the end, after 10's of thousands, you know what the solution was? A 6 speed swap out. You talk to me as if I wasn't the first guy to go through all this. Well let me enlighten you. Go through and search around for "adidas2go" or "turbo altima coupe", read up. Then hit me back about what I know and dont know. Until then, have fun with your build, and let us know when you grenande it :chuckle:

Unfortunately his friend passed away so I doubt that will be happening. At least that's what he says. I'd hope he wouldn't make something like that up. Bad bad karma man.

altima5507: I guess you found out first hand that some guys are not newbs on here. Calling out addidas was not a good thing as he was THE first boosted 3.5 CVT on here :yesnod If anyone would know..he would. Although I would love to do a transmission swap to accommodate a nice shiny turbo under the hood, my "grown up" side of me asks..what's the ROI of doing that? Aside form spanking all the little twerps around my town that rev their little D16 and B16 motors at me, nothing. Make no mistakes though, I will be doing something either a build or something else on the VQ but I know dang well that I will need to do additional cooling work for the CVT along with the build.

BTW..I guess you didn't see that thread that SurmanM did about dynoing his 3.5 CVT and only coming up with a 217WHP huh. If not, I know someone here that can hook you up with a 270+ sticker.. :chuckle:

I mean I guess you could of went with the heavier 3.7 engine over a 3.5 and not get much more out of it and when it comes to mods even less. Keep in mind the only diff in the 350/G35 from the coupe is the drive, which it is true it's better to push than to pull BUT if you know how to handle under-steer/not weak and can handle torque steer then it's not all that bad.
lol

reading this thread made me realize the true benefit of having a CVT transmission, you can tell people you have any amount of HP that comes to your mind, only a butt dyno required.

Vince is right. Although I love my car and how it looks and performs, at the end of the day it's still an Altima. It will never perform like RWD. I just got done re-reading this whole thread and yes it does appear to be shady.

Altima5507, Not sure what you're trying to prove here and why all the TS stuff. As Dan pointed out, forums are here so people can share information, non of which you have done so far. 3 freaking pages I had to re-read and all you've posted iis a pic of 3 boxes. (I also have the Stillen BBK so I recognized the boxes) :chuckle: You claim that you're doing this and that to the motor but rest assured you're not being original. You maybe the first to do it true, but original...I don't think so. I too have ventured into building up the VQ with a BC Stroker kit but since I have a CVT, what's the point. Even with an additional oil cooler, you'd still have to keep a close eye on the CVT temp before you burn out some kind of sensor. :chuckle: Truly the CVT in our coupes is the weak link but I guess I look at things in a business POV. Spending 5K on a stroker kit on a motor that is linked to a CVT is just dumb. Don't get me wrong though. There is a cool and wow factor in all of this but in reality, it's still a stupid idea.
adidas2go wrote:... I know for a fact the BBK doesn't fit on 18" rims, so how did you pull that one off?

I'm running my BBK on 18x8.5 +30 offset rims. Spokes just barely grazes the calipers :iconeek

I just reread this thread. After thorough investigation, I have made a deduction.

It could only be ONE possibility - and that, my fellow NICOers is...

The third coming of SKANKA. check-out-this-scrub-1-altima-coupe-hah ... ilit=scrub

Yea, I misread that and never corrected myself. I figured that wasn't the important thing here. I thought he said he had 17's.

Its all good blake we all screw up somtimes! Hell i'm still confused as to whats going on in this thread and why someone would tell YOU that YOU don't know what your talking about when it comes to the CVT.

@Altima5507 - USE PUNCTUATION!!! You did it in one post. Please continue cause without it you just look and sound like an idiot! :tisk:

To play devil's advocate just for a second, he did say his bro got badly hurt and that he was going to take some time to be with him and his family. He said he woud "install all his goods and write about it later." maybe he will return and elighten us all in the was of A/C pwnage */end advocate*

On the other hand. If you go on to an A/C enthusiast forum and make some very radical claims about things you are doing/done, be prepaired to be questioned, or even challenged. Then if you say you dont want to show pictures and stuff becuase you "dont want to be copied". Be prepaired to have sceptics.

If you are honestly worried about being copied.. I dont think that's a big worry. I dont think there is a whole lot of people with the money, time and resourses to take a 25,000 car and spend another 25k doing all kinds of extreme stuff to it.. even if that's the case, it probably wouldnt be the guy down the street. You probably wouldn't have a twin driving around town if that is what you are worried about...

Then you go about challenging people who have tried simular mods and they say it isnt possible. You say that it is... they ask you how you did it and you can only say, well.. uh, my friend actually did it and..uh.. i dont know what he did..uh..

Then you tell people they can come see it, and all of the sudden something happens and you cant make it...

I would hate to think someone would make up a story about someone getting hurt. I would like to give everyone the benifit of the doubt.. but something tells me we are all walking barefoot and blind folded thru a cow pasture.. i think i just stepped on something squishy and warm.

Lets say I told you I could kick Jet Li's a**. You would likely want me to prove it. If I said "no i dont want to prove it because everyone would know my secret.. You would probably tell me I was full of s***.. right? :nutkick
