Just a thought>>2JZ

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

IIRC DSM's are quite heavy aren't they?

Just a guess. Maybe the new body style isn't as bad - BUT I KNOW the laser I had had to weigh 3000 pounds. It took 5 guys to put it on the trailer, take it off, and go figure. . .put it back on

the weight is the main reason I dislike them, an eclipse could easily weigh 2600-2700, but its feels like it ways 3100-ish

I probably have my calculations wrong - but by time you BUY the GSX, you could have already had yourself a 250+ hp car compared to the GSX's 190awhp (210 to flywheel)
I agree somewhat with the dsm`s thing but I drove a 92 talon awd a year back and the reason i liked it is the stock motor is more forgiving than a built honda motor. This was my high school car so I beat the crap out of it, I pulled a 12.1 with 1.6 60foot on pepboys tires, at 109mph. It looked pretty decent too. I wasnt the one runnign the stock turbo though lol, I had a t04b v trim, and other supporting mods, but they are way cheaper to mod and take care of than any swapped nissan, I never had any problems as well except a broken axle and bad clutch.

But dont take me wrong I love my rb20det fastback more than any car I owned I also had price list that looked similar to the one above except a little different and cheaper.

s13 with bad auto tranny-600rb20det motor set shipped to my door- 1300fmic, exhaust, mantinence, auto to manual and other misc 15005lug conversion g45 front brakes and 17`s with decent offset laying around-600koyo alum rad 150 usednew shocks and megan springs 350

so I guess im 4500 in haha.

I was thinking about getting an AWD Talon or w/e for winter driving only, since we don't get a lot of snow here but they salt like mad. I wouldn't give a crap about the car, just don't want a 2wd car in the winter.

Tech2Motorsports makes a mounting kit for the 2jz. go to "2jzswap.com" thats where all your questions can be answered. $1800 alone for the mount kit (engine and tranny) and you'll have to send your crossmember to cali on your nickel. So thats 2G's solid right there. Now your front clip can range anywhere from $3k-$5k depending where you get it from and what condition it's in. VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. tranny is huge compared to KA. Even then. if you get the Aristo motor. (GS300 in japan but same 2jz engine) it comes with an Auto tranny. have to source an R154 5spd from an MKIII supra and get a 1jz bellhousing.. new clutch..new flywheel. Wiring is offered by Dr. Tweak at PhoenixTuning.com i believe his going rate it.. you send down your KA harness and 2jz wiring harness.. he combines them (guy's a genius btw) turnaround time is about 2-3weeks and i believet the price is around $500 (i forget if it involves shipping) hes down in GA. So do the math.. 2k+4k+500 = 6500alone. now add miscellaneous hoses and what not. keep in mind nothing is the same really. just gotta go to pepboys or something and get hoses that match up size and shape wise. hoses..hose clamps.. and this is all only stock stuff from the front clip. now you gotta get the USDM water pump..change the timing belt.. change all the belts.. if you want to upgrade anything .. nows the time bc therees no way to do anything once its in there. then to fit the downpipe.. from the stock twins.. thats another pretty penny for the custom DP and flange and junk. then electronics you'll need.. wideband.. AFC.. boost gauge .. boost controller.. thats roughly another 500 +/- . COOLING: need at LEAST 4in KOYOrad.. $500 ish and have to have the inlet pipe modified to fit the 2jz. so that plus how much a rad shop cost. anything else you want.. p/s.. a/c all custom lines.. a/c lines need to be fabbed. same with p/s lines. on top of all this.. for speedo/tach.. you need the converter boxes.. figure trying to make a nissan cluster read toyota.. big PITA.. if you know anything about wiring. it's god-awful. all this is tip of the iceberg. i figure our totall as it stands is around 8k-9k... and this is all without labor. this is all assuming you're going to tackle this yourself. in which i recommended not to.

so look upwards of that amount if anything. you might want to re-consider it. it's awesome dont get me wrong. its my DD. and winter will be interesting this year.. but i say if you've originally planned for KA-T... it's probably a cheaper more effective way at power. no one's gonna hate on you for it.

swap is always a possibility in the future. if you dont need to .. then dont do it

good luck

..god damn that was long. im late for class
