Night is gone. Venus doesn't have any and they are unsure about their next shipment.

Who else carries them? I need to find one in the next couple of months or I'm gonna be sad. I don't want to spend outragious prices either.

And I'm not going to trust anyone on ebay. Screw that. :(

I have a feeling this is going to get ugly..

Why not ebay?? If they have good feedback and answer your questions...why not??? Quality??? None of these other importers havent proved to me that paying 1000 more for their Rb or SR is gonna help me in the long run. I dont know much about afterdark's engines but are you telling me I should pay 1000 more for the same 10-13yr old RB20 they will get over a 1200 one from venus??? However you slice it....these are still old *** engines from junked cars of some sort. if they have a start up warranty and will replace broken ****...i say go for it

Do a search of his name and read posts from people who actually tried to order from him.I know wouldn't order from him.

I know for me personally Night ruined any chances of me ever ordering from a non business type. I would rather get my engine from a high volume importer. No offesne but I like protection and knowing that I dont have to pay for my clip upfront. That isnt good. I dont see why we tolerate it actually. Do you go to walmart and order something and pay upfront..only to have them order it??? Again no offense to afterdark, but damn man. Sure Venus doesnt offer tech support or install, but they offer lower prices (albeit for "lesser quality" engines in the eyes of some), but you kow that you pay when you order and that it is in stock unless the last clip they have is junk and parted out (ahem). I like that kind of business.

I'm thinking an RB26DETT clip might be easier to find, does anyone agree?

I think I would be happier in the long run with the RB26 anyways and converting to single turbo 2 wheel drive etc.

Doesn't even look like venus has RB26'S though.

I found this site, and they look like they are pretty good to deal with.

http://www.usedengine.com/performance.asp

But too bad they have a waiting list for the RB25.

I seriously feel bad for the poeple who are going to dedicate themselves to this project......... like me. :\

If you guys want info bout japan direct I would be your man, since that is actually about 20 mins from my house. Been in their warehouse a couple times, they rarely get sr20dets or any of the RB series..haven't seen one there yet. But great service none the less.

I've been talking to one of their employees about the RB swaps through email.

They seem like the absolute most legit company I've ever seen that sells engines.

The bad thing, is that he is having a hell of a time finding any RB series engines and clips. And he doesn't see any coming in the near future...

the price of a fd will be more than a s13 and a clip and almost every mod needed.

Yes but the price of an FC Turbo II has really dropped if you can find them. FC's are a great deal if you know how to deal with them, especiall for something like spec racing.

rubhamusan, read my post i said a 90 rx7, not a 93-95 which is the fd, the 86-91 if the fc model. but yea the fd will cost a lot more than a 240sx, even with the rb25det swap.

an 89-91 turbo II is practically impossible to find now, and if u do its usually high priced. i got a gxl (top of the line NA) and im planing on doing a turbo swap with a more agressive port than a street port, but not race port, hah would suck to drive on streets.

Update: Looks like I found an Rb26DETT clip with low mileage.

I'll keep everyone updated. :p

WHAT!!!!! The RB25 transmission does bolt up to the RN26 block.....

Whatch what you guys buy.... I just saw this motor set up on Ebay again. They stuck a RB26 transmission on the RB25 engine.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...14036

Not much use if its going into a 240..............

sorry man not to up an mazda's i thought a fd started in 90.

but man think of the rotary not very reliable motor. i know people who got tired of them and losing money toasting motors and ended up putting a sr in a fc. and if yo udon't toast them they only last about 100,000 miles or so. just a thunk.

RubHamuSan, about the rotaries, they are quite reliable. the unreliability issues were on the fd3s, they overheated real bad, which is not good for the engine. if you make sure to change your oil regularly and not mod it much, it can last for a couple 100,000 mi. it also helps to add a better fan, and a better radiator, and then everything is peachy. and anyone who owned a 7, knows that rebuilds arent expensive. u can do it yourself for a couple hundred bucks. they are engine, so u have to take care of them just like a piston engine.

I've never heard that...

But since you've raised doubt now, can anyone verify it?

that actually doesnt seem like too bad of a price....i mean rb26 clips are how much anyways...then you gotta get a rb25 transmission too...then pay for all the shippingi hope somebody can come though and actually be a reliable source for rbs soon.:(

You guys who are looking for RB25DET clips.. I've found a couple.

http://www.japimports.com.au

They have TWO RB25 clips. One with 50k kilometers and one with 55k kilometers. And the prices.. are AWESOME when converted to US. They are based in australia and shipping is very cheap to the nearest port.

They seem extremely nice and experienced. Email them..

As for me.. I've found myself a complete swap without the clip and very low mileage. peace.
