I have asked him the legitimacy of his claim to sell these engines for so cheap, and he did offer to give me some phone numbers of clients he has serviced in the past. I just shot off an e-mail asking for the numbers of no less than five clients he has serviced stateside, and/or an Escrow account be set up for us on NICO interested in these engines.
We shouldn't go for anything less than a 3rd party verification (ie a system like Escrow) to back this up. I will see what his reply is. Yes, he is a very nice person, and does remeber you by first name, but at the same time, we are talking OVER 2 grand for a possible scam. That is one hell of a way to be burned. He has stated he wants to set up a paypal system for purchases, but they do NOT insure purchases over $1,000.00 USD so it would be easy to be scammed that way as well.
If we can get multiple escrow requests in his inbox, it will either make or break his claim as an engine seller. It's a scary thing because of the scam going on in the other thread coming to a total of $25,000.00, not to mention legal fees to get the money back from "Cameron" is it?
I have already been burned out of a grand trying to get a good RB swap from another person that was a silvertongue. Let's see if our requests will go through to back up his claim.
I shot off an e-mail with these simple requests of him. Before anyone else gets the shaft, let's see what his reply is first.
::edit::
I got a wire transfer reciept to a fella in Oklahoma. It still doesn't prove much, but it is a start. He also gave me his business address, phone number, and his personal home address and telephone number. I will give him a ring tomorrow to have a good conversation with him about all of this.
He is also promising to send me a small list of phone numbers and addresses of clients in the states, so that will help his case a bit more.
I'll post more info as I get it.
