so you going to run kicks-----actually there are 2 .35 airspace boxes secured to the back deck with 8's in them.yep theyfit.midbass rear fill, the back deck is completally covered in visciolastic,2 layers i think.revinyled the back deck to look smoother, easier to clean to.every peice of metal has some kind of sound control stuff on ot...theres alot room behind the door panel.just take out factory box that the speaks sit in..pretty self explanitory..make a baffle and screw it on.use wood for a baffle and seal the hell out of it..i have some teardrop kicks for 4's and tweets.i dont use no more.no cant have,lol.6 and tweet fine without door panel mods.all doors have 1.50 inches rubatex completatally covering outer door skin.foam.undercoat.3 layers visciolastic on the inner skin, then plumbers wrap covering the inside of door..insulated to the hilt.even headliner i did.whole floor is covered in visciolastic and rubatex over that.took bumber off car.whole rearend ingulfed in six layers viscio.i can play 40 hz thru my front doors pretty strong and your arm dont even fel the panel vibrate.outerskins dont budge either.just a knockk on my doors and youcan tell somethings up.ive done alot of work on all my doors..the back doors have 8's too.used to be crazy..4-6's ,4-8's,4 tweets, and 2 4'sin cabin.14 quarts in the cabin,fun,lol..no stage tho.i need to get my harddrive for the car..i ordered a 16 gig hard drive player for it almost a year ago, still waiting.thats how it goes with new stuff, lol.then 5 custom made zapco amps go in.2-c2k9.0's and 3 6.0's..with the old subs i could do like 140 spl and not one thing makes noise,nothing.silent.you can see the trunk force air out the top tho.it dont flex,i got it covered too.the more prep as far as sound deadening is concerned the better.i didnt compete in that tho..140 sucks, for spl..my armrest in the back has a pass thru too.wont need that tho with a couple brahma 15's were the back seat is now lol.man, sucks not workin for so long, makes me ramble.this is my communication with the outside world, lol, sorry

dont be sorry, i need help doing this car. how did you have your subs firing towards the trunk lid or towards the back of the car?im not going that crazy, id love to see some pics. if you want to email them to me [email protected]. i just met a guy with a j30 with running water coming out of the dash up the a pillars down the back into the rear deck then into his system in the trunk. i wouldnt do it but it was different. do you think i should just run a 6 and a tweet in the front doors? im not cutting the rear doors out just using 6x9 in the rear deck.

i dont use these kinda kicks anymore....i moved both of the computors in the kick areas ..i hogged out the comp.areas and have 2 -1 inch holes drilled venting to the outside of car.now nothings in the way on floor at all, hehe.i run morel 6's in there now.if you look hard you can see what i did to the parking break.i took out the whole thing gave it to a freind and he modified it..its been rewelded.the pedal is an l shape to clear the kicks..i took the pad off the back of the pumpy foot rest to so its flat.now i can hold my legs straight out and point my toes and cant touch the firewall.im 6.1"..without the seat all the way back.i definetally lounge when i drive ,lol.

if your just putting a six in the door you shouldnt need door panel mod.plus mines was for 2-6's each door.i think ajay in the stereo sec does a how to modify door panel.i ca glass a little bit,and do stuff.my buddy did my door rings that hold the grill.im redoing everything.all doors..i got braces welded in the doors.i cut window tracks and welded them taught.my front windows go halfway down cause of boxes in the doors.i figure as long as i get a drive tru bag of food thru it,im good,lol..sound more important.you only need a six in your door dont you.i wouldnt mess with the panel in that case.thanks for the compliments..the amps were jacked about a year ago,but i alredy had the new amps.its weird, they were carefull not to hurt my grills and boxes and stuff weird.i ccouldnt believe they didnt take the sub grills.im going to mount them on my home speakers,lol..how do you not use those grill for something.there my favorite part of car.i think stereo stuff needs to be in the othe forum.

Diamond, I must say that that is some very high quality work you've done. No wonder you won those awards. However, I need the dead pedal big time. :D

kind words mike thanks.my awards were for sound, not install.i dont get points for that.it has to be very secure, but as far as bling and innovations,no points..one time tho i was at a sound show in a car show but didnt enter the main show.then this little old lady comes up and ask whats with my cars, mods and stuff,i told her im not in the carshow,..she goes, you should be.so i entered reluctantly cause in no way is my car up to that kind of par.in my mind.anyway, took best of show,.i was happy.trippy.longshot.maybe after awhile i will do regular shows after alot of mod work.i really into functional stuff so i dont put alot of crap in my car, well just alittle,lol..i was thinkin of puttin an actuator on the parkin break so i never have to set it.it would be automatic.i gaurantee she will be awsome when i redo interior.and put the new amps in.you may not recognize her

i got an idea, get some pillar cover for a newer j with the tweet locations in the pillars.do you like staging.mids give ya the stage but tweet can take it away,lol..it always best to keep the tweet and mid close.id put the tweet as far from my ears as posible.this is the fun part, figuring it out.you can modify your pillars.it depends were you want them, its your baby.im keepin my kicks.pack rat, lol.

Unfortunately, true sound attenuation requires doing the floor pan and wheel wells as that is where most of the road noise is transmitted from. No short cuts, and no light weight solutions in the real world. Doors and trunk will help interior resonances, but do very little for road noise.

well then i guess i have to do the floors and wheel wells. i dont like the tweets in the pillars, i just dont want to loose them behind the door panel. it is a loud fuel pump.
