what bank did you rob, man thats a ton of stuff....i like how you chose a brand and used all it's products instead of mix and matching....all auto meter gauges, Apex'i turbo stuff, etc....

Yep, that all looks pretty good to me. If I had the loot to spend I would probably do something comparable.

Alas, (sigh) I am broke. I am just happy to be getting my engine in stock form dropped in soon.

Good luck.

I would be cautious using the autometer a/f gauge...its measurements will not read 100% accurate.

I agree SKR is the way to go if u wanna get ripped of :thumbd they ask 5k for a complete swap with a home made intercooler :rolleyes

i wanted to go with them but when he talked **** about HPI intercoolers ( i was like this guy does not know nothing ) i mean c`mon his intercooler is better than the HPI

and the second thing i did not like is the **** talk he said about yury/jeff in heavy throttle

who cares about SKR any way

so yeah me and my mech are doing the swap it will take a couple weeks we will work slow and make sure its done right since its his first sr swap , he is a good import tech tho have done tons of honda swaps and custom work with nissans /supras back in the days

we will be doing swaps once we are done with mine for way less than any one around i also have a supplier of clips/jdm parts :D

hey i went to the jarco inc site, but the inventory wasn't working. how much did you pay for your half cut?

how has the experience been with them so far? I've been scouting for SR distributors, and the best I have come up with so far is After-Dark tuning. I live about 4 hrs away from them so I can go pick up my engine.

Just was curious about this Jarco company because I would rather get a half cut over a engine set if the price is right.

Sounds like McKinney... that's why I didn't go through them.

$5300 for BONE STOCK swap + one gauge$6000 for ABOVE + FMIC?

no way.

my suggestion for you is to brace well that turbo since the obx manifold is pretty much garbage (personal experience), it will crack easily. So to prevent that, fabricate some braces to support the turbo.

take care , Mario

judging by the huge silvia pic on Jarco's main page of their site, I would hope they do more Nissan stuff than you say. :pface

let us know how your halfcut is when you get it please.

Looks good  Though are you using the stock radiator would that suffice? Seems like you are going to be boosting high.you might want to upgrade the rad/fans.

What's up with everyone in Jersey doing the SR swap? you guys are killing me. I crashed my car a few weeks ago and can't find a decent replacement 240 with a 5 speed anywhere in this area. Stop buying up all the 240's so I can get this SR motor out of my garage and into a car where it belongs. And btw if anyone in Jersey knows where I can get my hands on a 240 pleeeeeze hook me up!

after installing it, we ran for about a week changing between 7-11psi and then it has cracked in 4 different places all of them next to the welds that makes the bends on the manifold. Its very thin gauge steel, this one definitely proved to us that in this world you get what you pay for.

I havent put my manifold together yet, so I dont have pictures, but as far as a brace is concerned, its pretty self explanatory, with scrap pieces of the metal of your choice, contruct braces to support the turbo, like going from one of the bolts on the actual turbo to the cylinder head, any braces that will take stress away from the manifold, therefore preventing cracking manifolds or exhaust manifold gaskets. By now, anyone here with an SR20 should know how much a pain in the *** is to remove and put back on the exhaust manifold, so anything to prevent this procedure is great idea.

As soon as I make my manifold and the braces I'll make sure to post pictures of it, take care

so ur advice is sell the cheapo manifold and stick with the stock ? or take my chances and see maybe mine wont crack ?

i see they sell them like crazy all over all this people dont know its a cheapo i got it as a stock replacment not for power or any thing its a better looking manifold and any way when i ditch my t-25 next year i will need a new manifold for the bigger turbo i would get

or what you think if i just brace the manifold it self like reinforce the welds some how ?

I hear ya AllTurbo!!!

Here in chicago land, a decent '92~'93 5 speed hatch is at a dealer and usually at least $4,000.

My buddy just picked up a '91 Fastback SE 5spd in great condition, 99k well-maintained miles. He got it for $2k from the original owner. Hes one of the fortunate ones.

I just got my 240 a little over a month ago for well under 1000. I bought it from a guy in MD though and had to fly out and drive the SOB back to central IL. It was a 5 speed 89 hatch and other than the obligatory rust near where the foam wing _used_ to reside, it was tip top and made the 14 hr. drive back no problem. I found the car on this forum as a matter of fact, so take heart allturbo, you will find your car and don't settle or pay too much.

Yeah my friend's car is in great condition also. He has the same spoiler problem as you.

Its not to hard to find '89-'90 240s around here, but I just can't seem to find that many '91-'93s.

Aside from the different engines, KA24E vs KA24DE, is there something I missed that would make the latter s13's more desireable or is it just that they're slightly newer and would have less miles.

well mostly newer and less miles. i like the look of the 91-93 body more than the older ones. also the tach needs to be replaced when you swap in the sr20. so does the power steering lines and some other lines (forgot which ones.)

its drops in easier with a '91-92 because of these reasons.
