It seems that the only model I find around here are drop tops. Im curious if anyone has tuned a convertible 240. I heard that its a little heavier and not as stiff as the coupe or hb. I assume that a SR engine and auto-manual conversion would help out a lot.

I've been considering buying a 'vert as a project car for some time... Kicking around the idea of doing the SBC swap using Aries' kit. What years were the 'verts produced?

BTW, those mesh rims are saweet.

i thought the convertables were only sold in 1994 as automatics. i have personally seen 2 of these in california that were tuned. one was pretty stock looking but had a SR and 5 speed. the otehr was blue and had the silvia face but i dont know if he had the SR yet. i think he did but i'm not sure. there are some nice convertables in Japan. as far as the stiffness of them. yes they are not as stiff as the coupes and hatchbacks but you can get many aftermarket parts taht will stiffen it up like a bottle of viagra. i wouldnt mind driving one around if it was tuned. :)

Look on eBay right now - There are several 'verts for sale. More than I thought there would be.

A few 92s, some more in 93, in 94, only the convertible was made.

They are all autos

1992: A convertible debuted during 1992 in "Limited Edition" trim with a rear spoiler, automatic transmission, and power top, windows, and door locks. Otherwise, changes were minimal except for eliminating available antilock braking on the LE model.

1993: Not much change marked the 1993 models, but the leather-upholstered LE hatchback was gone.

1994: An SE convertible was the sole body style offered for '94, unchanged except for a new "cherry red pearl" color choice.

Some clown for a drift show in an Option video or something. He was pretending to fall out of the car and stuff while doing donuts on the track. What a clown.
