The semi-rough of the surface on the intake track is beneficial to the higher air flow. Gasket matching will yield better results than smoothing out the surface. When you gasket match, make sure you leave 1mm all around beyond the gasket edge. Actually, making sure the opening on the lower plenum is just as big or slightly bigger than the top will be best.

Your calipers look like sex, how did you do them? Just paint and sanded? Im going to have mine powdercoated, and the Nissan kept to metal

calipers may have taken 30min each side.... i just cleaned them while they were still on the car with my old rotors/pads and sprayed them black. Took a block with sandpaper to sand off the NISSAN after the paint dried.

Don't worry, i took extra special care in making sure the paint didn't get all over the suspension components

That's exactly what we did with both upper and lower plenums, just used the gasket to outline what we could remove. Same idea with the heads when they were ported

Jacks on the TC rods?

I wanted to do this at one point, but, I would thought this would cause premature wear - maybe not...

Well it looks like the dyno is further away than i thought....

can anyone pick out what the hell this noise is? vtc gear? lifter? piston slap?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRNNCDgt3xo

it completely disappears once the car reaches operating temp...

Ugh, it seems like its always something with these cars. How's the oil pressure?

Oil pressure spikes to 100psi+ when first started but quickly comes back down to about 16-18 at idle once warm (by that time the shallow clack is gone).

I ordered the BDE VTC Sprocket Set from CZP late last night so once these come in hopefully that'll solve our problems

Good to hear that the problem was solved.

Are you going back to Walls for the dyno runs?

You should go there soon, its starting to get busy there. I stopped in yesterday to check on the car, and Brian was running around with calls and customers. If you happen to stop in, the yellow NA that is parked out front is mine.

ShiftJDMZ, I would be up for a Z meet. It would be awsome to see how many Z32's are in winnipeg.

Probably not the right thread for this but I found one on ebay, needs repaired but any competent glasser can fix this very easily. It's a little overpriced but then again you won't find many like it.

I like it but it doesn't have the body line like the 99 jspec one does, the one that extends the length of the car where the fat pinstripe tape goes.

Anyways, for those lusting for it...
