I'll let you know ahead of time! Meanwhile, what I would do if I were you is purchase another metra kit from honestDee, I'll do the Pac-SWI install and motion bypass for you when I get there. If you can't wait that long, you can always find another installer, but most likely, because they didn't do the original install, they're gonna charge you by the hour to trouble shoot, and fix the problem and complete the install , probably looking at a min. of 200.00!

in any case, LBC, I know it's a bit of a drive, but if you come down to B-more that weekend I can take you through the install piece by piece... I think you already have your stuff installed, but it may help you for future work... Someone had to teach me how to do this stuff and it could def save you money in the long run/future...

I like the front and the carbon fiber. It looks like you're going for a car show look, should put one on the other side to make it even. I'm a sucker for being symmetrical. Imagine you only had a TV for only one headrest.

Dude I was about to post that you are so FREAKEN STU#*D for doing that, but I remembered that I saw a hondazz civic about 1 1/2 months ago that had TV's on the corners of the front and rear bumper. Now that was stupid. To each their own right. I just respect and keep my feelings to myself. Good job dude.

Hey Robert, don't mind the few. I think it's very unique and very custom. Now I wouldn't do such a mod because I don't have children, so it would be senseless for me to do such a thing. Now if I did have kids, I would actually consider something like this just to keep them out of my hair while I'm driving.

I don't even know where comments like this come from... did you even read the explanation above... you hurl an insult and then say good job... I'm at a loss for words...as generic stated, and IF YOU COULD READ the above explanation, perhaps you would better understand why this mod was done... as far as posting that someone is "FREAKEN STUPID"... well I don't think that woud have earned you many points with the moderators on this forum. name calling would be unnecessary, childish, and potential ban material...FYI

Please dude don't get me wrong. I read that you did this mod for your kids. I did not mean to insulting you in anyway. To me it just seems like a dumb place to put them. They could have been put on the headrests or they even sell kits to have the TV hang from behind the seat. I NEVER posted that you were FREAKEN STUPID. I stated that I was ABOUT to say that, but then I remembered your reason for putting the TV's in that location and I thought, "He is just making his kids happy." I have nothing but respect for you and everyone in here dude. Please forgive me if you got the wrong Idea. So I ask you... Will you forgive me and accept my apology?

It's not even that serious mr. coupe, it's cool... but the tone of your post was confusing to say the least, in any case, the more folks say that its an odd place to put monitors, the more I love the idea of where I put them.

Everyone does the same things... chrome rims, intake, exhaust, tint... I like to see folks like 2brian0 with the smoked eyelids, or chow with his custom stereo system... why, because that's the very definition of custom. How exciting is it for everyone to get the same exact mods, and do it the same way other folks did it... it's pretty boring if you ask me.

As I mentioned, I've had flip down tvs, and headrest monitors... but the rear quarter panel monitors is just slick... the pics don't do it justice at all, day or night, these things look great...I mean I can make a drive up to LA and you can check them out at night and I guarantee you'll be like d***, those thing are pretty slick....

maybe I should have started this thread out with the following disclaimer

Guess I read it wrong. You should definitely check out some local car shows and try and get some sponsorhips if you're going all out with this one.

Fullviet, that disclaimer wasn't meant for you, but other folks... I think your comment was based on the fact that I wasn't clear that I had the monitors on both sides.. but it's cool...

in any case, i have some more ideas of "custom" things I want to do, but specifically in the interior... the Altimas w/ tech package have a cd changer down below the climate controls.. I purchased that storage box that holds the cd changer and will be placing another dvd player there, that way, I can play dvd's and operate the navigation at the same time... right now, i have to stop the dvd and put the nav unit back in if I change destinations...very annoying, and part of the reason that I wanted to go with the Avc Z2 in the first place... although I must say that I LOVE the rotary volume knob on the D3, and this is lacking on the Z2.

In any case, I'll have pics of this in the next few weeks..the true customizers will appreciate it, the haters will...well, you read the disclaimer...

Let me meditate on that. I really don't want to talk to dude. When Jan comes around, I'll revisit this though. You are prob right though.

He has done some work on it and picked up some connectors of some sort...so I'm not sure if, even it I did get it, it would be usable.

Me too. I likes!

I would never do 80% of what cats are doing with their Coupes, but I have love for all of them and would never degrade anything someone else did. I think it's creative and modding is fun.

I've seen a couple cars with monitors in the doors. It's not all that uncommon.

Ok, but even still, this is an Altima party, so if you've got an Alti S or C, come on down... if not, check the G forums for their local get together and go to that

Come on man - on another thread you talk about how the Altima is just the FWD version of the G - yet here you are saying the opposite and telling me to go elsewhere?

Why would you want to discourage anybody who would want to participate? We all have things to share and learn from each other. And you think I am a hater???

I've offered before on this forum to get to gether with any AC owner for a photo shoot so if MadBC or any other AC owners are interested let me know.

Good Luck!

rjdmmfl1 wrote:In many ways, yes the G35 and A/C share many similarities, but they still contrast a lot. When it comes to everything that we will be doing when we fix MBC's woes regarding that jack*** of an installer I sent him to...I don't see anything positive that you could bring to the table... you definately don't know more about the A/C, you've never taken apart the inside, and you've never installed a navigation system in an A/C before. And as I've said numerous times, I just don't understand why you, or the other non Altima owners would even join or follow this thread. I don't know if its just pure curiousity and preoccupation with this vehicle or what. So cool, you're on the forum, you've given some valuable information, and I think we all thank you for that... But to try and set up a G, A/C meet just seems asinine! you say you've offered before, and no one has shown interest...if they do show interest, cool, set that up, if they don't, then take the hint buddy!

Now let's just agree to disagree on this topic, and get one thing clear... I agree you can be anywhere you please, including this forum, but NOT in attendance at a gettogether that I'm setting up.... ! I just don't get good vibes from you homey, let's just leave it at that and stop discussing this nonsense over the forum!

Sorry folks for the interruption, please stay tuned for more to mods on the Altima...

I wasn't going to respond to your rant but I remembered that I didn't do anything to warrant your remarks.

The negativity and arrogance is incredible. First let me say I don't know what vibes you get from me but I'm glad you speak only for yourself. You've never met me so you don't know me and I've never attacked you or done anything even remotely close - to give you bad vibes? I get vibes from meeting people face to face.

You've taken an offer and turned it into some personal BS.

No - I've not taken apart an Altima - but I have taken apart my G - I had to do this when I installed my ipod adapter (actually took car apart twice). I've taken apart my 2 cars before that. It really shouldn't matter - anyway. I wasn't offering to do the install - I was just making myself available and since it is MBC who's getting the install it really is his choice. (MBC no need to respond - I was just making a point)

For the record - watching the install would actually benefit ME. Ive considered addiing an aftermarket double DIN (again same fitment as Altima) to me G coupe. I've seen it done even keeping the factory nav like I have. Isn't this the way you learned?

You keep contradicting yourself by trying to draw the lines between the G and Altima on one hand and then aknowledging the similarities on the other.

See the post you started about the CAMS for the VQ engines for an example of the contradiction. It would only make sense that anyone considering this mod would seek information from the other VQ owners (G35 included) that have done the same mod right - so would you hate on them (G, Maxima, Z etc owners) the same way you are hating on me. You are the only one giving off the bad vibe.

One good thing is that you are coming NEXT MONTH to help remedy the situation caused by the installer you recommended - too bad you are not here TODAY to get MBC's hood unstuck from the same botched install.

MBC - I posted a link on this forum recently linking to an AC maintenance guide I found on ebay - if you don't already have one you should look into it. It should detail how to disassemble everything on your car. May have helped with the hood problem - good luck!!!

In football the refs often miss the first blow and only catch the second

If you are really keeping score the real blow came from the guy who called the monitor install in the Quarter Panel stupid. I would never say something like that. I don't say things on the forum that I wouldnt say in person.
