Yes, I have amber leds setup in the footwells of my car... with the black interior, it looks really good at night... I'll take pictures of it tonight!itsjustbusiness wrote:Hey guys,
Just wondering what you guys have done lighting wise on your interior. I was thinking about getting some LEDs in the footwells for a nice aesthetic affect at night. Anyone do that yet? Also, I was talking to this guy I know who owns a shop and he said he could change my dash lights, gauage lights, push start button light to any color I'd want. Fiction or nonfiction? Oh and anyone who can upload pics of what they've done that would be sick!
Cheers,Kevin
2 Questions. How long do the LED's last? And.. Can you turn the lights on and off? (If so where is the switch located) because i dont wanna see a single thing that has to do with htese lights if i get them installed.Absolute Zero wrote:I had 7 color leds (color morph) in the footwells (front and back) of my Mazda6 and it looked excellent. But if you have the black interior, it isn't going to show up hardly at all, and I don't think it would look good in the beige interior. The 6 interior was a light gray, so the lights reflected off very nicely. Sorry I don't have any pics... I never thought about taking some of those. I had a stereo shop install mine so that the wires would be clean and they did a fantastic job. You couldn't see a single wire or bulb and that is the way I wanted it.

The leds never went out (not a single one) and yes, you can turn them on and off... they wire up a small control box that has on and off and mine also came with a remote (keyfob looking thing) that has the color select (it can stay one color or morph between them), on and off, rate of morph, strobe effect, and color blend (select 2 colors to mix). All in all, very customizable and easy to use. I didn't carry my remote with me, just kept it in the console. The switch is usually mounted inside the lower portion of the console (or at least that is where mine was) but I am sure they could mount it wherever you wanted... that is a good place though.Shift_Altima wrote:

check out my new thread on this subject... I have installation tips and pics!!!!itsjustbusiness wrote:Ahhhh. Pic is hard to tell but from what I can grasp of it and imagine it looks pretty sick. This is definitely going to be my weekend project. lol and for AbsoluteZero - does the toggle switch come with the LEDs or do you have to buy it separate?
Where did you get that kit from? I'm gonna get it and get someone to install it for me. Unless u wanna when u come for the ny autoshowrjdmmfl1 wrote:Yes, I have the red kit from the first vendor... remember to read my other post, they come with the lights wired to a little control module thingie... I didn't like that because with that, everytime you turn your car off, and turn it back on, you have to turn the lights back on...
also, with the control module, the way its wired, there's no easy way to hide the control module and make the install look clean...
now, not only is my install cleaner, but with the little led wired switch I installed, I can just leave it in the on position, and when I get in the car, its already on... i love it!

ok, please excuse the horrible picture... I need to upgrade my digital camera... neway, here's a pic of it, horrible quality, I know, but it at least gives you an idea. The camera doesn't pick up the amber light very good, its brighter in person!
In regards to how it matches up, the red actually looks really good, the naked eye can't really tell the difference between it and the amber lights on the speedo.
if you have it by the time I get to NY, sure, I can do it for you, no problem!Shift_Altima wrote:
