Seems as there may be some truth to this.GreyZone wrote:

Looks like a cold air intake is available (said they just came out last week?) Cost is $266.00, puts the filter out of engine compartment into a cold air flow.
NO!! THERE IS NO CAI AVAIALABLE FOR OUR CARS!! The link you posted is for model #SP1977 which is NOT a cold air intake. It's a short ram intake!! They list it as a CAI but it is not. I honestly don't think a CAI will be coming out soon.GreyZone wrote:

And they also said they have applied for the EO number and should have it in about 8 months...so those of us in CA can call them and have the sticker sent to us. Cant get it smogged in CA without the sticker, real pain in the ***!

No, headers are not available for our cars yet. Even opening up from cat-back will have it's benefits, but changing out the exhaust manifold for a header will be even better. I'm pretty sure within the next 6 months or so, a set will be available. It's too bad that HotShot Headers is no longer in business because I personally think they had one of the best sets. Ran them on my old SE-R and they were great!!GreyZone wrote:Are headers available for this engine/coupe? Doesn't make much sense to change the CAT back exhaust and leave the factory exhaust manifold on...
Yeah, like I posted a couple days back, I think they call it a cold air intake because it has a heat shield and it dips downward a few inchesshift_mikey wrote:EDIT: BEWARE! Compare partnumbers! We all keep calling the injen a short ram intake, meanwhile there is NO listing for a short ram intake. Cardomain.com and stillen.com BOTH list the injen as a cold air intake. Its just our terminology compaired to theirs
Gotta love deductive reasoninggeneric808 wrote:Just compare part numbers, people!!
Don't you just love it?! Wait til she breaks in and then tell me what you think. I thought it sounded great when I first installed it, but after 300 miles, it sounds exactly like a G in that sweet spot 2000-2500 RPM's. I've since logged over 500 miles since my install and I'm enjoying every mile of it <---- you see big smile?EzeebMOS3 wrote:Finally got my intake and installed it 2nite... ITS AMAZING Totally worth the money. Took no more than 20-30 mins, very easy install. from 2-3krpms sounds just like a G, than above 5 k rpms just sounds like a modded Z. Its insane. totally worth the money and wait.
I don't see why not? Same motor, same layout.SHIFT_2.5S wrote:Do the 2007 Altima 2.5L K&N or Injen Filters fit the 2008 Altima Coupe 2.5?
Oh yeah, that G sound is all motor. No exhaust, just motor. The VQ35 in the Altima is basically the same motor in the G and Z's. Adding the INJEN to that same VQ motor lets her breathe, thus creating that very unique sound which I LOVE SOOO MUCH!!pcpower wrote:Ya I read the whole (long) thread, haha... Just wasn't sure if anyone was exaggerating, I wouldn't have guessed that an intake could sound so nice. Maybe I'm being jaded because I once bought a nice AEM Cold Air Intake for an `02 Civic........ and it basically made the car louder.
I suppose since the A/C is running an entirely different motor that the intake will have a different effect...
thx!
