That shroud would make the headlight look sweet, just make sure it hugs the projector like the kouki ones to make it look OEM

my plans are to use my qx4 oval projectors in my s14 zenki and put on some super made clear covers. also I'm either going to black out the reflectors in the back or go body color not sure yet (thanks d!ck for reminding me of that) here is my progress so far.

this is what it should look like (just one side) i used a led light so its not very acuarte on the out put

ill keep everyone posted on the out come of this... I'm still waiting on my clear lenses to show up and then i have to get a 9005 HID kit

i did some photoshop work on the black or body color housing for those that wanted to see what it would look like. I'm no photoshop pro but you get the pictureblack

body color white

95% sure I'm going with the black housing white just looks funny

the projector is 2.5"H x 5.5"L x 5"W

these projectors are very hard to find at a reasonable price. when you do a retrofit with them you have to turn the projector upside down to get the correct cut off for our low cars.

i used to live in Morrison. 138 montibello exactly. we were the first people to live there back in '01

i haven had these in long and I'm already making the second set with a OEM shroud and the back is going to be held down tighter

Looks really good! Can't wait to get my Zenki front-end and those light covers. The beam pattern looks much better than the J30s I rock in my pop-ups.

lol same thing when I see old people driving j30's with the factory vlsd, I just want to swap my open diff for their lsd and they probably won't even notice a difference

Those look great man. Anyway you could post up a DIY on the wiring? I want to retro-fit my Kouki soon, but am a complete novice at electrical stuff. It would really help me, and I'm sure many others, out alot

the wiring is very simple... buy the correct hid kit for projectors and hook up to factory harness. DONE! with my retrofit i had a damaged set of headlight i could experiment with so i had no down time on the car and i could do trial and error. i think i made about 3-4 different mounting solution and i would just try them out till i got the one i liked.

from what i hear koukis are a lot easier to do than the zenki. kouki has the correct support and brackets already there for the projector you have. i read a write up on some one that did a s2000 retrofit on a kouki and they just had to shave some of the edges and it mounted right up

Yea, I'm planning on doing the S2k retro. I have the write-up saved and memorized, lol. So you went the extra mile and bought an HID Kit and just used the wiring harness? I guess I'll have to start looking...

yeah its a lot easier than trying to wire up a factory HID system. the HID kit is all plug and play. if there is a time where i would NEED to put in my factory headlights and go back to halogen lighting i could, it would take me less than 30 mins to do and i would leave no signs of modifications.

Good stuff. I really don't mind how it looks since I too take a lot of guff for the way my lights look. Function > form.

If you could ever find a set that wasn't a billion bucks, the C6 Corvette factory projectors are uber-nice. The cut-off is superb and they're pretty damn small.

I'm interested in doing this to the clear covers that I got from you. What type of paint did you use? And how is it holding up? If you had to do it again, would you use a different type of paint?
