BT, when I plug it into the USB port, it just charges the phone. I will have to tinker with it a little bit more. When I first tried to hook it up years ago, nothing would play so I went to the Dealership and they of course informed me that there was some kind of package deal that apple and Infiniti did and only apple works on my M37S, so pretty much the rest is history as you know.
Yeah last time I tried it said it couldn't read the drive (that was an LG at the time I think). With the Pixel's having multi-partition setups, it definitely won't read it I imagine.stm37s wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 10:55 pmBT, when I plug it into the USB port, it just charges the phone. Nope. Generic cable. I’ll take one of the Apple ones from the house out with me tomorrow and give it a go. Thanks!reggiebrown40 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2017 3:26 pmDebonair, are you using an Apple certified cable when plugging into USB? I'm asking because it sounds like their update disabled the cable. I have 3 cables in my car; the original Apple cable, (which is fraying so I had to heat-shrink it) an Amazon cable that is Apple certified and a generic non-certified cable. Guess which one doesn't work?
If you have an OBD II bluetooth scanner connected all the time like I do it can cause skipping as well with playback. When I remove the OBD II scanner, it still occasionally skips but not as much.
Is the additional 4 outputs the reason why it's so expensive? The Naviks is half the price! WTHpedsemdoc wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2017 10:17 pmHas anyone tried the phone mirroring interface equipment from Navtool or Naviks?
Navtool now has an Apple Carplay device which also gives you 4 additional video inputs: http://www.navtool.com/infiniti-m-2011- ... rplay.aspx
But it's 500 bones -![]()
They state on the website that the installation difficulty is a 2 out of 10 (1 being easiest and 10 being hardest)
I've seen one video on YouTube for installation of one of their products in a G37 and the are a few for Acuras.
I'm just curious how well it works, and if that could bypass all these annoying Bluetooth connectivity issues....
Requires the iPhone being hardwired, so no BT issues.pedsemdoc wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2017 10:17 pmHas anyone tried the phone mirroring interface equipment from Navtool or Naviks?

Maybe Apple licensing? Or them just trying to take advantage of the high pricing for Apple related products?DoN_BLaZe34 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 11:25 amIs the additional 4 outputs the reason why it's so expensive? The Naviks is half the price! WTH
Damn, that's clever. I have a dozen old iPhones laying around. I can put one in the center console for Pandora and have it connect to my phones hotspot. So simple. Thank you for this!White-Rush wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 7:42 amMy work-around has been a small ASUS tablet (zenpad z8) with 4G LTE built in, that I keep in the car and use for streaming my Spotify and Waze. This device works with no issues at all. For phone calls the iPhone still works with the cars Bluetooth system, well most times that is.
This is the first time I've ever seen anyone make sense of the BT issues I've been having. I'm an AT&T customer and have had nothing but problems with the BT connection going back to my M45 and whatever iPhone I had back then. Next phone I get will come from Best Buy. Hopefully that'll solve my problems. For now, my calls work ok, but streaming music is inconsistent. Sometimes the music is in and out and even when the sound is good, the track info is either completely absent on the screen or the song info doesn't update from one song to the next.Debonair wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 1:22 pmI iPhone 6 worked fine. My iPhone 7 Plus has never worked properly with my Bluetooth. Turns out iPhone's have different Bluetooth radios depending on which model the retailer purchases and some are not as compatible with many cars as others. AT&T store phones, like mine, are known to not work regardless of the iOS. Apparently Apple store and Best Buy sold iPhones (A1660; even for AT&T service) work fine. The versions sold by Apple stores (A1784) do not.
A user on a AT&T forum HERE figured it out and tested a bunch of phones.

So I begrudgingly switched to plugging in. It worked fine for a while. Then an iOS upgrade previous to 11 seems to have caused my car no longer be able to identify the phone as an iPod. It actually says "No iPod" and removed the album art and all controls from the car screen, forward skip using steering wheel and radio buttons still work making it usable. There is actually an error code set for it in the cars entertainment system.
I am casually looking into a Bluetooth adapter to put in the center console. The CoolStream CarPro (for BMW) seems to be the best bet since it allows on-screen controls. Once I get annoyed enough Ill pull $80 trigger and order it. I am waiting to see how the iPhone X does once its released as well.
Also, I thought these BT adapters wouldn't work in our cars. Do you know anyone who has tried it in an M?Debonair wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 1:22 pmI iPhone 6 worked fine. My AT&T iPhone 6 was fine on my M56. No issues at all. The hardware change appears to have happened when the 7 came out. Same behavior as yours; good call quality and performance, bad music streaming with inconsistent information. I am going to wait a while after the X comes out and find out if there are differences between the model sold by various retailers and what reports hit the internet about BT issues.Big_Tone wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 2:04 pmThis is the first time I've ever seen anyone make sense of the BT issues I've been having. There are so few Y51 owners out there, and even fewer of us modifying them that I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone who has tried it. CarPro has tried it successfully on a many Infiniti models including a 2010 M35 BUT today I found a wrinkle in m y plan. Many of the CarPro test cases include this disclaimer: The CarPro will NOT work with iPod cables that plug ONLY into the USB port. It appears to require the car to have an OEM 30-pin connector.
same for me, it was spotty before but now all the controls are lost. I have been plugging my phone in for music - it sucks!Malbec 56 Beast wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 4:39 pmAll,
So Apple does it again, downloaded the new update and my phone is like a turd now.
But what really pisses me off is now no functions when I stream music or when I'm on the phone works with the car controls.
Don't download 11.0.2. Just checked my phone and there is another update.
You guys having the same issue?
