That's what I meant..

The 90-93 only has 500 increments I think...

the 94+ has 250/500

That's one thing I really miss on my 91 is the 90 seat controllers. Those things were so nice. I wonder if I could buy them and wire them to fit the 91.

I THINK this has been done successfully..

If so, I would love to do the swap..

I wonder if Joe sells the 90 seat controllers.. It would be a pain trying to find them, let alone, getting them in the right color..

Awesome! I'm totally going to do this then. The 90 controllers look so classy.

I remember reading through the archives and seeing this discussed. I think Palmer said someone had done it on here..

I don't see why it wouldn't work.. The functions are the same, just the difference in controls.. If you swapped the whole unit, it should work...

Ryan,

If you took pics of the cage that'd be awesome! I wouldn't mind having a cage in my Q as long it isn't all that heavy...

Well, to make a long story short. My Q wouldn't start a few days ago so it's currently at the dealership waiting for them to diagnose it. It would turn over and electricals are fine. My two best guesses are the starter or fuel pump (or either of their relay's) are shot. In any case, I'm having them take a look to see exactly what needs to be replaced/repaired in the active setup. Hopefully they won't forget this time!!!

Have I ever told you how slow things go when you want work done on your car... and your 1500 miles away from it? :rolleyes

As far as the controller goes, I'm still in 100%. By the time I go to pick up my Q in the beginning of July it should already have a nice (Polk) system and rims!

:ylsuper

I'll drink to that.

I always keep a spare used FPCU* in my trunk.........they can look perfect to the layman [no brownish overheat marks on the white socket and still be funky at times].

Have seen then give up at WOT in Summer, the newer designs [97 and later] have a big resistor across the unit to serve as an emergency back up.
