Christmas came early for me, my eibachs have finally been delivered after many weeks of waiting for a camber bolt to be special ordered and my License plate and trunk Leds (Not that exciting i know) came all on the same day.

Now its time to read and read and re-read some more on changing out springs. This is one mod that has me nervous, this will be the most mechanical work i have performed on a car but i think i can figure it out. So if you got tips feel free to inform me. Hopefully i can take a day off from work next Saturday and attempt the install. Will let ya know how it goes once i do.

Did not want to start a new thread for this question and could not find answers through search or internet searches. I am looking for the spring and all its components for center console box (part # 68560 ja03a). Mine came with one of the closing mechanisms on the side missing. At first it didn't bother me that it does not close but now i have usb cables, hdmi cable, and charger cables bundled in the box and it would be nice to close the lid and hide that away when not in use. Trying to avoid buying an entire new box to save money. Next step is contacting nissan directly.

I broke my box on one side and managed to take it out and fix it well enough to open and close with spring resistance. It just doesn't do the smooth slow open thing it's supposed to. Ill look for the replacement part.

Nissanpartszone lists the console box as 96919R and wants 118 dollars for it.

How did you replace it, mines missing more then just a spring. the arm where the spring attaches to is busted i believe. Thanks appreciate the help in locating the parts. I sent nissan an email even though i think that was a waste of time as they never have a helping response.

Yep exactly why i don't want to buy a new box, really hope i can find just the parts i need. I have no idea how that box is worth 118 bucks, crazy.

oddball request but if anybody happens to pull out their front center console box on an 08 coupe for whatever reason, before you put it back snap some photos of each side clearly showing the mechanism in place for keeping the latch closed. Tried googling and no good pictures came up. I want to fabricate these parts using a 3d printer. And if a ruler is nearby hold it up to the picture so i have a reference scale. I cant imagine these parts having a tight tolerance so i m hoping exact dimensions are not needed. Don't know of many people that are constantly taking the bin out but hell thought it was worth a shot.

hopefully someone that can help stumbles upon this thread shortly. installing eibachs, got the spring off the struts but my bump stops are in bad shape and the one that is in the dust cover that i am suppose to trim looks like its been trimmed already but not sure. Dont want to cut this down further if its already been cut before. I cant imagine why it would be cut.

edit:
ordered new ones, only problem is cant get them till tom and still not sure its the right part. guy from the store seemed pretty confused...car will have to stay on stands till then. All because of a simple piece of rubber.

Oh wow, well when you get the parts in take some pictures and we can verify if it's right. Mine were white rubber and hollow.

There on already and so are my springs. Yea mine were the same however they were aftermarket so the hole was slightly bigger...had to wrap layers of electrical tape around the nub on the insulator to give it a snug fit so the dust cover would not slide down. I also had to buy a new insulator cause the rubber grommit was completely shot. My spring installation turned into a serious project....took me all of Saturday between running around getting parts and actually installing. Then took it in for alignment and for camber bolts to be installed and they tell me they have to drill the rear holes to extend it so the bolts fit...ugggh so gotta wait till next weekend for that. So can't comment on the springs till I have a proper alignment.
