Exercise your moderific powers to close the thread. A solution has been proclaimed, the girl who was once NissanRose, should now be called MustangRose and directed to a Mustang forum. Toki should follow her, to protect her and get in on the 16 year old cyber lovin. :ylsuper

i am not a moderator in this forum, if i was, this thread would have been closed a while ago.:)

It's not like we dont see these all the time. It's just fun to vent. Also I think she has every right to post here. Not everybody on here owns a nissan. :D

Please don't say "this country" should use stricter testing. Yes, we here in North Carolina need better driver testing. And you there in Delaware need better driver testing. Take it up with the state. Do NOT let the federal government get their grubby hands on motor vehicle regulation, they're already interfering in things they shouldn't be domestically, and f***ing them up worse with every passing day.

I totally agree with you Mr1der. When I took my driver license's, the officer came out and checked the car to make sure everything worked on it. Then we left the station and went down the road (basically around the block) and then I came back and parked the car and I got my license. I didn't have to parallel park either.

I think most of the things that are required for you license should be part of your permit as well, if it isn't already. Not just by taking a test and see if you pass. They should make it tough so people can focus on driving then doing other things in the car.

I did some REAL stupid crap when I first had my licence. I tested fate for about 2 whole years with my father's car. It was terrible, the things I did, but I honestly feel like I am a better driver for it today. I really dont think you can learn to be a good driver without having that almost-crash sinking feeling at least once. You need that, both to impress on yourself the reality of a car accident, as well as knowing the physical limits of the car on the road.

I'm not sayin what nissanrose did was okay or should be considered some sort of training exercise, but I really do think there is some value in screwing up a few times.

...And please, she didnt "learn her lesson." How do you know that? ...Cause she said she was sorry? Pfft. Only time will tell if this actually made an effect on her.

okay, just to clarify something:

yes, we have all done dumb sh1t at one point or another. however, we (most of us, at least) have learned from those past transgressions, and now simply seek to correct what we see as needless endangerment. that's not hipocrisy, that's wisdom. i mean damn, if grabbed a hot pot with my bare hand and said "owww!! that sh1t's hot! use a potholder", does that mean u should try to do the same thing because i did it? no. ditching the cops? no way to justify it. not wearing a seatbelt? who's really gonna argue that one? case in point: the last time i rode in a car w/o a seatbelt, i was like 6 or 7. we got into an accident, and i was ping-ponged between the front and back seats mercilessly (i was sitting in the back). it was only by extreme fortune that i didn't get thrown from the vehicle. from then on, it was seatbelts for me (be it front or rear seat). also, i worked with a seasoned EMT once (over 25 years on duty), and he had said that in almost every situation, when a person is ejected from a vehcile, it ends up on top of them. ever since i learned that (about 6 years ago now), i've seen about 11 of such accidents, and each time, the victim was found underneath the car. believe me, i don't think the intent is to preach this or bash that. it's simply to educate our fellow enthusiasts and keep them safe.

anyhoo, i just felt the need to vent that, and defend the advice that some have given. nobody here is a goody-2-shoes, never-did-wrong person. that's exactly the reason why we know what we know and would rather advise others to avoid the same jackass mistakes. in hindsight, as much as i learned from my mistakes, i'd much rather have learned from somebody else's.:pface

Sorry to those who think this thread is dumb, but i just had to add something, even though i was trying to say out of it. I was a passanger in a 2002 Mustang GT last april, on a private residental road, it was dark, and there was a sharp turn ahead. I'm not sure of the exact speed, but it was somewhere between 40-50. There was sand on the road (that we did not see right away) because one of the houses was doing some construction. We ended up hitting the sand going around the turn, which sent us going sideways, we hit a rock (more like a boulder) and we landed in a ditch. The airbags deployed and we narrowly missed a tree, though we did take out some bushes. That accident changed my perspective on things. I have to say that I did do stupid things when i just got my lisence (like almost everybody did), but it was nothing major. I mean after all i have an SUV, so i was quite cautious (hearing the stoires of people rolling them and everything). But after that incident, the driver (my boyfriend) and I are both more careful, and I don't think i will ever be the same after that. Things like that make you realize just how important life is, and how much people mean to you.

Amen! I have some great stories I've restrained from ever telling around here, I know how ya'll treat speeders...

99QX4, rolling an SUV isn't really that scary, just keep your head down!

Darkeagle, 1der: it was that hard to get your liscense? shoot here in Texas all I had to do was take a 20 question test and prove that I was me. We have the system where if you have a pulse, you get a liscense.

Thanks Nathan, I'll keep that in mind, but i don't plan on rollin' my truck any time soon!:D However, it has already been rolled once, but not by me. The guy who rolled it didn't want it anymore, so my dad, who owns a body shop, bought it and fixed it. And the best part is you can't even tell! :D

Wow, that's an awesome way to get a QX4! It actually DOES suck pretty hard to roll an suv, but keeping your head down really does work, I came out without a scratch. Unfortunately my girlfriend decided to put her hand up to block the breaking glass (bad idea) I still feel bad about that one...

yeah i know it was stupid!! i have admitted to that. i ditched teh cop becuse i didn't want the ticket!!! that car weather its a slow mustang or not is the ticket to my freedom i can hop, in crank it up and go anywhere i want to. and the handling is pretty good in that car. thanks to all who have stood up for me and didn't let others forget they did stupid and crazy and things when they got their lincense. i know i can handle that car, i push my self to see how far i can go i have always been that way and no thats not the most ideal look on life but you live and learn and i knew someone who used to take those curves at a high speed to. he knows who i am talking about. think about how many times we could have been caught doing the stupid things we did on that same road in the 240 down that long stretch of road by the fields.and just to let y'all know i am already a member of the mustang broads and have told them all about it to . i have not been on in a day or 2 due to school workand friends. so i' think i will take y'alls advice and go on there. it was nice for the better part being apart of the forums, i really enjoyed reading about all the stories and everything but i think y'all are right it time to go. y'all have fun goodbye:ylsuper :D

Plus i know the prime time for cops is after school so i dont do stupid **** then. Hell after school is a bad time anyway, too many dumb as* kids running around.

I think ramblin' Rose and a mustang forum will make a good match. Based on her last thread, it seems to me she hasn't learned much from her experience and appears destined to do something reckless again. I wish her good luck because she'll need it.

soo...i suppose i was too general in saying "this country", when i was implying each state, because i think each state has similar [state funded] driver instruction courses, yes?

mustangrose, good luck in the futureand it's not pushing yourself to see how far you can go; it's knowing your limits

damn i feel bad for you kid, they really reamed you good on this one... anyways i was 17 once and wrecked my exes altima trying to powerslide into a set of two open parking spaces... yeah that sucked... as far as seatbelts i hate them and ill admit i dont always wear one.., but i do wear one in bad weather and when i am speeding (like on a highway) but well there are race tracks for things like s curves and ****... yeah they cost money, but alot less than your new insurance premuim, and the other great things are that :1.-theres no cops...2- its perfectly legal to go fast...3- theres usually saftey areas around the track so if you do f*** up aroung an s turn you just end up stuck in sand rather than stuck in a tree...4- a track is better paved than a road (in general) so you can push it without worring about loose gravel, leaves, branches deer etc... (ok so deer have nothing to do with the pavement)i dunno... theres good if not at least decent reason to hit up a track insttead of public roads...im not trying to lecture you, and im sorry if it comes across that way, im just offering up alternatives instead of concequences...-g-
