Hello all of Nico club...Alot of you definitely don't know me,I was on this site 4-5 years ago when i got my first s13. It was a labor of love and hatred, alot of hard learned lessons...and in the end wound up in a scrapyard.

well now i'm older, a little wiser, well learned in the way of the s-chassis, and on car #6 & # 7. So this is going to be the build thread for #6 (the daily hatch/The girlfriends B-day present)

Three weeks ago i wrecked my 90' hatch...I had ignored my brakes for months in my rush to get everything together to build it into a drift car. They finnaly failed on me and i ended up rear ending a mercedes.

The aftermath
Image

The before (on stock wheels,i had roasted both sets of 17s and ended up selling them to a friend to pay a speeding ticket)

Image

The girl, the sonota daily and the pretty part of my car

Image

So I was depressed for a Day, Posted a wtb for a shell on Traction Optional that night. The next day someone came through. A 93 hatch, made in the same year and month as my first car. It was on like donkey kong then. Took my paycheck that friday bought it, picked it up that sunday and started in on it. It has some rust here and there, all in body panels, One dent in the rear qp no headlights, other than that its all good. It has rust free framerails, straight frame never been seriously wrecked, uncracked glass all the way around, and a clean title.

Well enough talking on to some pics of what ive done so far.

Started stripping down the old car

Image

Old beat up s13 seat first thing tossed

Image

S14 drivers seat and good s13 passenger seat installed

Image

no door panel inserts??? on both sides O_o

Image

Fixed, along with rubber e-brake boot and drift knob.

Image

Center piece installed,Will be taking the vht off the tails also, hate vht.
Luckily they are uncracked taillights so will look good in a few weeks when i get to that
Also installed my holeless hatch no pics of that yet

Image

The shell itself

Image

Engine bay painted two toned it satin champagne gold, and satin oilrubbed bronze.

Image

Image

Coilovers, K-sport rally spec....not arguing i got them for 110$ unblown and near brandnew

Image

rucas all cleaned up. I also have tension rods, and traction rods going on the car i don't have pics of

Image

Coilovers on...still need to adjust camber on the passenger side and how high they are on both sides. Going for a one finger gap in front none in rear,-3 on the camber in front and think -1 in the rear. Also replacing the passenger door with a good one today.
Image

For being just some 16' enkies that i don't like these wheels fit really flush with the fender. not too shabby considering i paid 400$ for the shell and the guy trailered it a half hour down the road for free

Image

The shells finnaly meet face to face a few days ago...i feel like my old car is saying F U white boy.

Image

And some random pics As if i need more pics in this post lol

Image

Image

Image

Image

Finnaly the reciept for my first payment on my drift car project starting in a few weeks.
Its a prestine coupe shell with power everything including sunroof.
Doesnt even have any rock dings in it...just needs alot of tlc on the inside and everything put back in it

Image

Im buying it from the local jdm parts retailer Import performance shop, awesome guys great service and i've gotten to be good friends with the owner and his son so he always does me right.

Anyways thats all today hope you guys enjoy and don't get bored halfway through.

So Today is sunday, and guess what that means? good ole update time

started off with a trip to autozone this morning

Image

Then i pulled out my wiring harness

Image

I spent around an hour and half stripping old tape wraping it up in new tape..took a break to go get some more tape and a drink somewhere in the middle (overlooked how much wiring there was to my original 1 roll ended up using 4) and some conduit covering and it came out looking something like this

Image

Removed the brake booster and master cylinder from my old car and put it in the new (spraypainted the booster before install)

Image

installed a brandnew clutch master cylinder and the clutch pedal also

Image

ran the wiring harness through the firwall

Image

my holeless hatch :D

Image

Gotta represent..

Image

love this shift knob..ironicly it actualy came off a japanese car that IPS (import perfomance shop) cut up in japan and shiped all the parts back to the state......and i havent meet many women yet that dont touch it when they see it lol

Image

My exhaust e-motoring O_o looks ok and sounds pretty good for 3 inch too

Image

I need to wash this thing its getting way dirty

Image

My buddy brandon found new use for a 240 fender....as a way to keeps his bikes kickstand from going in the ground.

Image

Well thats all the pictures i have from today, but not pictured i got more stripped from my old car...all the interior and the dash also got the whole topside of the motor ready to pull all thats left is the underside work...provided that everything goes to plan i should be sliding this turd bucket next sunday evening.... i mean driving

So today went really good then turned really bad!
Started off with a trip to ips where I paid off my coupe and got the title,
Got a key made for my car, a new Nissan keychain, and a lanyard so I don't lose the f*** "again"

Finally I went to work on my car got all the bottom side work done tied up a few loose ends up top. Hooked the motor to the cherry picker and this is were the day went bad... As I was trying to get the motor pulled a caster wheel broke off the cherry picker!

s*** sucks I go back at it tommorow were going to see if we can't just lift up on the motor and push the car back to get it pulled

So this weekends update is smaller than i wanted it to be. Unfortunately the cherry picker breaking was a major setback.

Anyways went and picked up some wicked tuning toe arms and some brand new rucas (Thanks Robbie!)
also in the pic is my tension rods and one traction rod

Image

Got the motor and transmision out Finnaly!

Image

out with the old in with the new

Image

Needs alot of adjustment! i forsee a trip to Mr. Pedan in the future.
also could break the bottom nut on my kybs off so on with the coilovers in the rear next weekend

Image

tons of parts scattered everywhere.

Image

finally ended the day with picking up a new clutch from autozone

Image

thats all for this week, i have to order a new pivot point from nissan so that realy set me back a good week aside from the cherry picker breaking.

badbob2121 wrote:why the autozone clutch? hopefully your not ever looking to make any power with your KA..

because at the time i needed a clutch roughly 3-4 months ago it was cheap readily available and had a lifetime warranty.
That is infact a warranty replacement....and i never plan to make power out of that ka,i plan on dailying it and maybe a little slide action here and there.

I am going to start building the drift car soon, its just getting a dual cam for the moment to get it moving and i will be saving to buy a sr as soon as i get the front end for my coupe

Keeping it just in case one motor goes even once i get an sr. as soon as i get an s/r though ill rebuild the single cam....i like them better than dual cams..people also call me crazy for it too.

for now though it will power my daily and i get the feeling the dual cam wont last but a few track days.

Yeah I Love my single cam I've owned 4 dual cams and for w/e reason I like the way the single slammer looks more.
It also IMO seems easier to work on

On the off note I'm so bored! I wish my car was closer so I could work on it every day when I get off... Unfortunately it's lik 30 minutes away so I can only work on it on weekends

Honestly I don't have alot of time or money honestly....and just enough knowhow to get by lol

It helps I have built a strong friend base of mostly 240 owners so I get alot of bro Hook ups and good deals on parts for small amounts of cash or in exchange for usually simple tasks. Like tonight I got the seat rails for helping a friend install a s13 power steering pump intoo his s14 so he could get to work tommorow.

Most important saying to me in working on cars is that you will never know everything, there is always something to learn everday and even then you will still never know it all

Another small update drove for 3 hours to pick this up

4-2-1 ebay? header and definite ebay down pipe...unless type r/s is an actual brand and not just something tacked one to the test pipe too look cool (had a '"nismo" one a few years back note the qoutation sarcasm)

Image

Also noticed today this has gotten quite a few views and not much posting,I know its nothing special but i do like input,

I'm honestly really happy its going along like a smooth build and i'm getting work done. this is by far going to be one of the nicest s-chassis ive owned soon

Correct,n/a for dailying and the g/f

Mostly going for reliablity and it never breaking again while being driven right (hopefully)

My coupe should be going turbo come tax time though. I'm not claiming any exemptions and taxs eat like 100$+ per paycheck, which i do have a kid so my tax return should be awesome.

debating on a dual cam in the coupe...or a n/a sr just to get it to the next traction optional event in late november and get me through my first event along with some much needed seat time at the track and not in an epmty parking lot.

And finnaly found good deal on a radio and speakers,Thanks to Andrew mcreary.

Hated having to buy this but my aftermarket radio in the wrecked car got messed up in the wreck..coke got spilled in it and for w/e reason the damn thing won't read cds any more

Soooo ready to start finishing this slut up this weekend.

Finnally got all the parts to make everything work right and for it too be a decent daily.

Only other things i foresee doing to it is some minor body work, rattle can paintjob, throwing aero on it,a quickrelease, steering wheel and hub...one hoe done.
