Either way not going back to welded. i like the vlsd better.
I wasn't familiar with shimming a vlsd so I googled it, found a thread on the other forum. MAN is it depressing how many people give advice on these forums without having the slightest clue how things work! Not referring to you in particular (I hope) but man, that thread was scary. Anyway doesn't look like shimming a diff is the best idea, hope that thing lasts for you.

My most recent car a 1989 Hatch, so stock its still auto.

I'm not going to call this a build thread at all, with me going to school my money is tied up chances are i won't do anything past a little bit of low and restoring what little needs it.

here is the specs

1989 240sx
motor rebuilt with roughly 10K mile on rebuild

previous owner replaced all rods and pistons with ones from Napa.
micro polished crank.
head and block both were shaved.
all clevite Napa bearings and rings.
autotragic(the only downside i've found)
Everything works even the cruise control and rear window wiper.
Megan racing strut tower bar F
Juran project strut tower bar R
Wheels: Work J wing 16X7 Front 16X8 rears

My only plans for this car is to eventually do coilovers and a 5 speed swap whenever the transmission blows, body work,a lip and paint.

I'm mainly just thrilled to own a clean s chassis most of my cars have been s***, so on to the pics Image

I also came to the realization i only have two pics of the car on the internet i will have to wait till i get ahold of my girls phone to get more
