so do you get as pissed off as me that just about every hand held thing is immediately set up for righties and us lefties have to either adapt, or pay extra for special lefty-friendly versions?
a left handed semi auto isn't a bad idea.

I usually wear glasses when I shoot the SKS or an AK or some other semi auto rifle though...I don't like getting hot powder thrown in my eyes.

7.62x39 was incredibly easy to find before the election

it's a very useful round, more thump than a .223, fairly accurate and reasonably light and easier to manage than a .308.

as for the stock on the T6, I think it'll accept most cheek pads for an M4 stock....dunno yet.

it's got piccatiny rails on top of the gastube and on the foregrip.

I might put a light on it soon....

All of my friends that had AKs have always had issues finding ammunition for their rifles. That was well in the meat of the bush era. If you were using a 7.62X51, I bet you'd have no problems finding ammo then

seriously?

where were they looking?

I could find it everywhere...I dunno why I didn't buy a case for about half the price they are now...

sometimes gunbroker has good prices on it...especially if seller is offereing free shipping. a case isn't a cheap thing to ship.

7.62x51 isn't that easy to find though

.308 Win is however.

I have no clue where they were looking. I just know they b1tched about it.

Last I checked, I can go to Walmart and buy .30-06, which is identical to the 7.62x51 NATO round

no sir.

.308 Win is CLOSE to the 7.62 x 51 NATO.

it's slightly different though, you'll have issues if you try to chamber one in the other on some rifles.

Ahh...I see now. The .30-06 has a longer case than the NATO standard. I was always under the impression they were the same.

the 30-06 is an entirely different beast.

it shoots a longer .30 cal bullet.

the .308 Winchester has nearly the same external dimensions as the nato round and will chamber in most of the rifles but has a thicker case wall and is usually a hotter round.

left to right is 30-06, 7.62 NATO and 7.62x39

I thought the 30-06 was equivalent to a 7.62 in chamber. Hmm..

the bullet diameter is similar as they're both 30 caliber, as is the 7.62x39.

if keeps you from having to buy more bore brushes

30-06 is a great round, but they learned it's a little bit of a hoss in the semi auto and full auto stuff.

7.62 NATO isn't much better on full auto. most of the rifles with the option usually have a two or three round burst mode that's a lot more suitable.

an AK is a beast to control too if you're unfamiliar. it'll climb to the sky if you don't know how to handle it.

I don't much care for .223, but it's a great rifle round to control on full auto.

Ok. Makes sense now. I was right thinking that the bore diameters were similar then.

I've known some soldiers that used M14s, and they all agreed that the rifle is horrible in full auto mode. In fact, I did some research and found that the M14A1 was a heavy barrel version that was designed for FA support. It had a hinged buttplate, a heavy barrel, and I believe a heavier muzzle break to keep it from jumping, but the rifle was quickly replaced by the M60 for squad support

yeah, the M60 was a great weapon as it was a worked over MG42.

the Springfield Armory M1A however is a fine rifle.

I'd still love to have a select fire M14.

a 20 round box doesn't go far for a support weapon however.

the M14 just didn't have the weight the old BAR had to help keep it under control.

oh so, i go in there and take a seat, there are about 3 other people getting their crap worked on and some dude comes in and says, "yo kees in da ca?" i told him no and then he asked " well ware day at? in my hand "you wan oal change or wha?"

so after all that, i give him my keys, they pull up the mean DA to the bay and pop teh hood and they do their thing, then somebody comes and calls me into the bay, he then tells me to look into my radiator, so i do and he's like you see that, there's nothign in there, i go really, and then he points at the overflow tank and he says the same thing. He then tells me i need a radiator flush and an oil "flush" and all this other crap...

i tell him, liste dude, if you look in my back seat area, there is a bottle of oil and a bottle of coolant, i know my radiator burns coolant and my oil leaks, it's not news to me. Just change my oil and filter and charge me for it.

I gotta say though, they were the nices oil change i've ever been to.

lol at your reenactment of how they talked. i get to deal with the mexicans at mobil when i take my truck for oil changes, which i have to do today . they're always trying to sell me extra services. all i said was i want an oil change, and a wash. if i wanted more, i would have said so. actually, i think they're finally starting to realize that i know what and when my truck needs something, i'm just not going to do it myself.

they're sweet.

but for the 800-1k I'm gonna pay for a nice one, I think I'm gonna save a little more and get a new M1A SOCOM II.

Dee, a lot of the ammo is out of stock right now.

I'm gonna get a case when I get my income return I think.

if I have another car by the time we might get a stimulus, I think it'll go towards an M1A.

I have a slight conundrum..

I paid in 18394.17 in taxes this last year.. 11840.85 was supposed to be non-taxable, but, my W-2 says I made 88107.98 when I actually made 42887.18. Do you guys think that paying in 6553.32 is enough, or that I'll have to pay some in?
