Man, I really don't know what it could be. That's so strange.

Man I am so high right now. I'm listening to Andrea Bocelli on youtube and eating tons of Ritz looking for fast trucks. Hydrocodone is a beast! definitely takes away pain!

Did you have the alternator bench tested? I'm assuming that the old alternator killed the battery, if thats the case you may need a new battery and that might be it. Get that alternator tested though. I've seen them come out of the box bad.

BTW I wonder how much it would cost to throw a LSX into a S 10?

No, it won't. The SOHC's compressor only works a little bit with the CA18DET. The SR and KA24DE are not compatible also for another reason, they don't use the same kind of refrigerant as the SOHC does.

Re-manufactured alternators are crap, no matter WHAT company you buy from.

ONLY buy OEM if you can help it.

The new compressor is R134a or whatever you call it, not r12.

Well it doesn't use the same mounts anyway, so yeah.

Basically, each motor uses it's own compressor.

Damn it. I really need A/C as summer is coming around.

Today I broke ANOTHER one of those retaining clips and had to get another from the junkyards. I didn't have the rocker perfectly aligned last time, so I suspect that was the culprit, throwing everything off.

Also, all but two of my valve cover bolts are stripped from the previous owner, and now it starts to leak like a mofo. Now I'm gonna have to tap in bigger holes. f***!

I hate single cams right now. They suck.

If you got a CA18DET it could kinda work with the SOHC compressor...

Some of the guys have a procedure for that in the forum over there.

I enjoyed my single cam when I had it. Good power and good torque. I didn't mind it. Never had a problem with it. I say save up the money for a CA18DET. They are pretty good little motors. Good out of the box horsepower.

Got the front end on the S14 replaced today, it's so nice to not be rolling around in something that looks like it has some form of mental retardation. Seriously it looked like it was half Zenki and half Kouki from the front, only the Kouki side didn't have a headlight just a big gaping hole.

Is there a way to tune it so the boost hits quicker?

Yes, but it's really not too safe for the motor and should only be used once in a very long while. One of the mods in the CA forum had a thread about it a few months or weeks back I think?

Ah I see. Well aside from the boost kicking in late, it's still a good motor.

I'm gonna head out guys. I'm seeing the Rocky Horror Picture show yet again at 12 o'clock tonight so I will catch you guys tomorrow afternoon. Night slutsicles.

I know I know you're right.

Both motors have potential, but out of the box, they suck, in my opinion.

If I'm going to do a swap, I want something stock that'll keep me satisfied for a while.

If you slap an SR turbo on a CA18DET, they pretty much are the same speed and power, actually. The CA is only a tick behind the SR in every respect (except design, CA kicks it as$).
