i've been looking at STi's. i've always thought they were cool, and real good looking. not to be confused with the ugly bug eyed WRX's of the early 2000's. the issue is its hard to finance a used car right around now.

the idea of an awd drive car is nice. especially here in michigan. i would hate to drive a 10-15k car in the winter that i liked, but its necessary and i know that car would at least work well. the 240 spins like crazy, then you hit 2nd and the wheels still spin. bleh. you cant turn too quick or you lose the a**, then you just end up powersliding around every turn. i managed to do a 300 foot powerslide on accident this winter in a neighborhood. i came around a turn a little too fast and lost the rear, so i adjusted the throttle and got it steady, but sideways. in the other lane was a brand new mercedes approaching. i kept the car at the same speed, at the same angle, drifting past the mercedes and then correcting onto a straight path 50 feet later. i bet that guy was s***ting his pants. missed him and a few mailboxes by less than a foot.

I want something either RWD or AWD. I have some criteria;

-4 doors and roomy, since I have a pregnant girlfriend for now, and then a girlfriend and a baby later-Safe, for the aforementioned reason-Fast and/or quick, because I'm totally gay for speed -RWD or AWD because I'm actually NOT gay and dont like FWD

and some extra MPG's wouldnt hurt either.

The only issue is the availability and price of parts. Well that, and the initial cost of the vehicle. I would love an '06, but even an '04 with close to 100k will fetch near 15k on the market. I dont have that money, nor can I get approved for a loan on that much in this market.

Foresters are cheaper, but aren't as cool or fast as a STi.

I honestly think that the WRX/STi is the only good looking car that Subaru has ever made. I cant think of any other. It's obviously the coolest and fastest as well. It's my only choice as far as Subaru goes. Unfortunately the fast domestics that I have wanted in the past are actually smaller. Kinda wierd huh? I cant really cart a family around in a fox body Rustang, even though the parts are cheap as s***.
