^What he said.

On a side note, If an ex of mine sent me that email, Id seriously consider taking them back. And I can be pretty cold at times so I say that you did the right thing. This is probably your last effort so good luck.

Wow, that email looks a ton like the last conversation I had with my gf before we broke up back in February. Good job on working in the song! I ALWAYS work in a song into emails like that. Even when it's cliche, most chicks love cliche. Anyway, time to get back on the road here after my detour (tangent).

You did the right thing. You told her how you feel and asked her the classic "where do we go from here?"

I hate to be a downer, but it's probably over for good. In a couple months you'll realize you don't want her back. I know it sounds crazy. I know you loved her to death. I know that most of anything right now you want another chance at what was, but to quote a song myself: you're chasing the ghost of a good thing.

Despite how fickle they often are, when women end a relationship, it's usually over, for good. Mostly because they don't want to be hurt anymore. Not saying you hurt her, but her seeing you hurt hurts her too (if that makes any sense).

Let it burn. Let all that crap fester inside you for a little while. I know it sounds crazy, but just roll with me for a minute. Let it burn. You'll often get so mad you can't stand it, you'll probably spend weeks or even months with this constant fire at the pit of your heart. One day though, at some point, you'll wake up and say:"God! I'm such an IDIOT!"And you'll be okay. You'll pick up the pieces and make a new puzzle. You'll take everything that became a part of you when she came into your life and everything that was already there and choose the pieces you like and put them together and throw away the rest. You'll become an incredible person with intriguingly different views on things from this experience. Friends (you will find new ones, better than before) will come flying to you for advice even more than they already did because you'll always have the right words to say. Chicks will love you, no joke, because you'll always understand the hard to understand.

One more bit of advice: If you don't listen to Incubus, go out and buy Make Yourself (1996 album) NOW! Buy any of their past three albums for that matter, you won't regret it. I went through 5 months of torture while listening to their past 3 cds almost exclusively.

If you're not into that, find another band, one you do like, and go for it. Trust me, music is the best way to at least put scabs over your wounds when you can't drive (or while you drive :D).

Had something similar happen to me about 5 years ago. My now ex fiancee left me and our two children out of the blue to be with some dude she met on the Internet. Try explaining to a 6 month old and a two year old that mommy's not coming home.

It gets better. Trust me.

And for the record, I am still single and unattached.

werd...if she left you for dead, then why do you still love her so much? i know the feeling, ive been through it before...but one day i woke up and the first thing i thought was..."that *****! what the hell!?" and from then on it was smooth sailing...i got to talking w/ one of my old friends (girl) who i've been best buddies with since i was in 10th grade (i graduated this year) and something just clicked that we'd never seen before and we've been dating for almost 6 months now w/o a hitch...

so just let it burn man...open your eyes to what's around you and just let it happen again like i'm sure it did w/ her.

I have a question...is her name Sam, cause we seem to be discussing my ex...

Suggestion: forget her. I can't begin to count all the women I've been with since I dropped that chick, my life has been so much better. Of course it took me a little while to move on, but an off an on relationship really takes its toll on you. Don't take her back man, I'm serious. You'll end up dropping her just like I did.

Actually, to this day I defend my exgf to the end. Everyone thinks she's a horrible ***** who screwed me over really badly. While she did mishandle some things, the breakup wasn't her fault or my fault (unless it really is true that she cheated on me, which I don't believe for several reasons). I just woke up and said "God! I'm such an idiot!" for still chasing after her for a month.

As for talking to a friend from 10th grade, I feel ya. I've started talking to the chick, who I stopped talking to altogether for over a year while I was with my exgf, recently. I had stopped talking to her because the attraction was way too strong, and she went to a different school (we were freshmen), so it wouldn't have worked anyway at the time (not to mention I was with my gf, who, in part, broke up with me cause of this girl). Oddly enough, while we've declared mutual feelings, we're still not gonna hook up for a while... it's like we turn it off and turn it on, so we're just keeping it off til we both happen to be completely single (just broke up with her bf and I'm sorta getting into something else again).

Whew, that's complicated, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Oh well, too many women is far better than not enough :D.

So, moral of the story: If there was that chick you were always friends with and always sorta liked, but never did anything about it, give her a call or whatever and see what flies (after you wake up and yell "I'm an idiot!").

Indeed, I may yet show up this time, even if only for a little while. Though, right now, unless something really odd happened, I'll still be exhaustless... damn OEM weenypipe...

edit: Yes, I did post directions... in the "damn people in GA" thread, or in the "ATL meet up" thread a while back...

If the library is on your left when you come through, it's the right at the following stoplight, followed immediately by another right into a shopping center. (I assume you're talking about the golf cart bridge over the road)... 54 is a 4 lane highway (2 each way)... you'll obviously be on the right, so you'll have to really look for the library, it's to the left immediately after a bridge over a small lake...__

||J| -bridge (J=you)||__|| / \|| | | -library|| \ /~~ -light||||||^^^ -weird golfcart bridge||||~~~ -light, make a right here, then the first right you see (you'll see it immediately)|||N - N= Newnan people (make a left at the light, then a right)||

Meeting at the pizza place, library is just a reference point. You'll be the J (hence why I put you there), as Stockbridge is northeast of here. Newnan people will be coming from the west. 54 ends near Stockbridge, do a mapquest and see if you can find it. Get on it and just drive for a long time.

If Jay's there then we'll have an S14 to hump, but that's really up to him... I think everyone from Newnan and PTC has an S13... and well I have a Sentra... so... I have had my car licked and humped though...

You like humpin exhausts too? Hell, Id hump my Maxima's exhaust, but its bit too rusty for my tastes. Oh well I guess mom's Murano will be good enough for me until Greg gets done with the BRM exhaust.
