if you can't go over 40 then most likely the plastic bag is stuck in your throttle body. take off the intake to the intake manifold and take the plastic bag off of the throttle body. problem solved.

unless your engine sounds different it is not causing any problems with the valves most likely. the others are right, a plastic bag will melt and burn away in the hot engine. anyone ever throw one in a fire? it scrunches up into a tiny thing and burns away.

so.. there is a second butterfly in the throttle ,,, now it is warmer .. i agree it must be inthe throttle body ... which is clogging the sensors .. because it is a tight squezze to get to the valves pass the egr valve i have never taken the throttle off so i will take it off ..

Wait, how have you determined where it is?

Exhaust fume leaks won't tell you anything

Did you pull the intake off yet?

no i have not taken the intake off yet . i have heard there is a second butterfly that the bag could have been caught on so i will try and takle off the throttle . . i thought it could be possible that the egr was stuck since that is where the exhaust recirculates . what would be best to take off the egr control (egrc- bpt valve and the egr valve or the intake manifold . this would cause the car to idle rough and could be the problem.. ??

I love this thread.

I don't even know where to begin...if you have anything but AIR in your intake system...remove it ASAP, don't run the engine...isn't that common knowledge? You posted the same question in two other threads. You ask questions about the egr, but you have a bag in your intake...exhaust fumes=exhaust leak, fix it. Your car will not run without the MAFS (which also requires no break in the intake tube going to the TB).

If you think your an online mechanic, STOP.

I suggest either selling the car or getting it towed somewhere decent. Dibs if your looking to sell Just pay shipping

yes the bag in the intake . if it is clogging the egr valve this is making it leak exhaust fumes because it can not return .. so it goes out .. if the egr is taken off then t he leak will be fixed ..

if this is what happened. all you have to do is remove the intake tube and take the plastic bag out. very simple.

Your car will run like garbage if you remove the EGR. Pull the vaccum off a EGR on a car without a plastic bag in the intake and you'll see. If you wanna remove the EGR to see if there's a bag in there......then do it. But again and this is really starting to sound like a broken record...maybe caps, bold, italic and underlined will help.

REMOVE THE BAG FROM YOUR THROTTLE BODY, BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE

Btw I love the drawing above, especially the intake tube/filter. It makes the kid in me laugh and brings me back to my high school days

Why does your intake look like a pen15?

Don't be afraid to remove the intake. nothing complex is going on. Just don't take anything apart that you don't need to.

but the bag got caught in the intake in to the throttle so .. i have found out that to take offthe egr valve in the back and to remove the bag and also to remove the throttle to be able to explore the dark caverns of the intake manifold will i be able t o dig up the hidden treasures lurking there ... . thus will enable the car to be able to create a combustion again .. e = emc squired......

If you could take picture's it'd be a lot easier, because I can't understand your language. If it's where it is in the pen15 drawing, then all you have to do is take off the intake tube.

You keep going on about the egr, off the top of my head idk where the egr is located on the 240 and it's too cold to run outside, over this. But unless I see pictures, I'm done.

It's like talking to a wall. By the way, the combustion process is done in the cylinder, not the manifold.
