MAKE THE PIPING AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE! THE CLOSER TO THE ENGINE THE LOUDER THE SUCKING WILL BE.

Why in the hell would you want to do this. Don't you want a performance gain and not just a "loud" gain.

PROPER ENGLISH AND "AINT" IN THE SAME SENTENCE HUH? JUST KIDDING.

HE IS OBVIOUSLY A PERSON WHO LIKES TO INTIMIDATE OTHERS AND NOT ACTUALLY HAVE ANYTHING TO BACK IT UP, SO JUST LET HIM BE. JUST REMEBER THE CLOSER THE FILTER IS TO THE INTAKE THROTTLEBODY THE LOUDER IT WILL BECOME.

Yo, you needs to get a mad tyte cold air intake yo, that's like 25whp. I suggest you duct tape your maf to the throttle body and just leave it. Who needs a filter when you get that mad tyte JDM loud intake noise yo.

On a side note, once again, I hate people.

You OBVIOUSLY do not get the point. God, these kids really need to get some teaching, who tells them what common sense is?? If you want to know WHY someone's intake is loud, ask that. That's a reasonable question. But if you want to ask us purely how to make yours loud it's the same thing as asking how you can make your exhaust loud. It doesn't mean anything. I can make lots of things loud, but WHY. Exhausts are loud because of large piping diameter and no restrictions, but the REASON they are that way is because that's how you extricate the most performance out of them. They aren't loud to be loud. I'm sure most would take them at half the noise level if they got the same PERFORMANCE. That's the key. You need to do some serious re-evaluating, we don't take kindly to non-performance related questions around here. You want to go make things loud, go get a Honda. Those kids like that kind of thing.

sorry, let me say what i mean. I was wondering if i put a K&N Cone filter will it make a difference in sound? right now, i just have half the air box with the open filter, and i cant really hear a difference between that and how it was stock. i have 2.25 catback exhaust with dual 2.5" tips, and i just want to be able to hear my intake better. No im not trying to make it sound like a loud *** honda, i just want it to sound decent.

Think about it. It's simple physics. You are removing material in the way of the sound that comes out of your throttle body when it opens. You also remove stuff that absorbs it along the way. Therefore, the path of the least resistance will be louder. Simple. So if you replace a big plastic airbox with a simple filter, of course it will be louder.

Why?? I see no need to give someone a "break". It's simple physics and nothing more, something that any reasonable logical human should be able to understand. "Give a man a fish, teach him how to fish, etc.............."

I dont find his question unreasonable. It may not be my kind of thing, but if someone wants to hear more of their engine, then help a fellow nissan owner out with getting the most from his car in whatever it is that he enjoys.

Yes if your running a short-ram intake of sorts, then you will hear it more. You still wont hear it much though, and its definitly not some kind of impressive sound or anything. Im sure you could play around with certain air filters (im not talking about air cleaning filters) that could make different sounds. Mind you if anything breaks then its going to be sucked into your intake.

If your not familiar with these ideas then you probably shouldnt be messing with your intake. If stuff breaks off and goes into the intake its usually game over. BEWARE

Personally i think its a worthless idea, if your exhaust is loud, well than i doubt youllb e able to hear the intake in the car let alone outside, unless it cranks up the noise really high. Just my 2 cents.

blah blah blah.

I wish my Exhuast were louder and deeperI wish my BOV were louder to the point of making pedestrians hearts skip a beat.I wish my Turbo spoolup were louder, like the sound of the Secret Services car.

All I have around where I live are imports (mostly civic & acura but not just) & Fox bodies that make a TON of noise and dont go anywhere. I want them to come after me, i want them to find out that i am faster then them, and i dont want them to be able to hear themselves THINK while they are finding out. < They mis-shifts that way :D

Main Entry: ain't Pronunciation: 'AntEtymology: contraction of are notDate: 17781 : am not : are not : is not2 : have not : has not3 : do not : does not : did not -- used in some varieties of Black English

UsageAlthough widely disapproved as nonstandard and more common in the habitual speech of the less educated, ain't in senses 1 and 2 is flourishing in American English. It is used in both speech and writing to catch attention and to gain emphasis <the wackiness of movies, once so deliciously amusing, ain't funny anymore -- Richard Schickel> <I am telling you--there ain't going to be any blackmail -- R. M. Nixon>. It is used especially in journalistic prose as part of a consistently informal style <the creative process ain't easy -- Mike Royko>. This informal ain't is commonly distinguished from habitual ain't by its frequent occurrence in fixed constructions and phrases <well--class it ain't -- Cleveland Amory> <for money? say it ain't so, Jimmy! -- Andy Rooney> <you ain't seen nothing yet> <that ain't hay> <two out of three ain't bad> <if it ain't broke, don't fix it>. In fiction ain't is used for purposes of characterization; in familiar correspondence it tends to be the mark of a warm personal friendship. It is also used for metrical reasons in popular songs <Ain't She Sweet> <It Ain't Necessarily So>. Our evidence shows British use to be much the same as American.

Someone got :owned...

Oh wait, that doesn't help your intake become louder...(whoops...;))

Three words: Dual Air Horns (hey, you'll definetly be loud)... either that or custom make a short ram intake using a tennis ball container and one of those Hepa filters off a Hoover vacuum. (trust me, Hoover makes the best.)

sissy... (unless you have an exhaust leak, then yes, by all means--make it quieter)

If you replace your stock intake box with a cone filter and remove the resonator box that is near the radiator...then you will automatically have something louder than stock. Don't worry too much about it.

To me it's all about functionality, if you need to get a short intake, and it happens to be loud, then so be it. Anything I do to my car is based around hp, and torque. If it happens to be loud, oh well. If all you want is a loud intake, you'll be right there will all the other all show no go guys eating dust from all the anything buy show guys :) but that's just my thought.
