Ok, so I called Linda today and they have to make orders to Ameri-Tool that total $50. So since they are out of stock, they have to wait for other to flesh out the rest of the order. I may try to work something out with them and buy this stuff in bulk so I can make kits if there is enough desire.

Yup! I waited forever to get them. When I received them after several weeks, found out that they sent me BR-209L-32, not BR-209R-32. Ball joint on BR-209L-32 is facing opposite way. I found it right before the installation.

I ordered three upper brackets. I was going use Dremel, so I was afraid of messing it up. Actually, I messed up the first one and got the second and third ones right, so order a couple of extras.

Yeah, rico05 do something about the brackets. That'll be nice.

Trust me. This is one of my favorite mods on my car, so please do this mod for your car.

I dobut it man. These dampers are rated at 40psi IIRC, so they should be ok for a CF hood.

you think? i'd just hate to push down on the front of the hood to close it and have the hood fold in half at the dampers

A well made hood should be rigid enough.

Already tried. Somehow they didn't fit on my car. I'm a guy who's willing to pay extra bucks for nice direct bolt on parts, but they didn't work at all. Holes on the hood brackets were WAY off. I had a hard time getting a refund. I had to open Payal dispute to get my money back, so if you want to take a chance then go ahead.

I followed the instruction 100%, but my hood won't close at all.

You don't know how much I'm thankful for rico05 for this write up and idea.

Plus, it is more fun to figure out stuff for yourself than buying a kit.

I was at the junkyard the other day when I saw a J30 and decided to get the diff, then I saw that the car had 308,XXX miles on it and changed my mine. But I did manage to grab the hood dampers . Do you think this Linda might have the brackets that I would need? seeing that these dampers already have the ball joing on them.

The Right hood damper:

I had to finally replace the dampers. For anyone wondering what part # to get for carbon hoods, it is 4423. They are rated at 24psi, unlike the 4418 which is 40psi. I have a stock hood and had to find out the hard way. Seems crappy they lasted only about two years. Anyone with a big name kit have better luck with longevity?

Get dampers from O'Reiley. They have lifetime warranty and I've used once already. All you need to bring is old worn out dampers and a receipt. They will give you a new set without a questions. Tough things are keeping the original receipt and finding an O'Reiley shop that has a set of dampers in stock.

rico, I was wondering about this. What if you install dampers opposite way? Meaning looking just like 3000gt. Our set up lifts hood this way --> /\ (left side damper, right side hood). This is what I'm talking about.--> \\ Do you think it'll make any difference?

Only 80 bucks. I have a set of the same brand i bought a year+ ago on my FC and they are still working fine. installation was perfect on the rx7.
