Sheesh your such a Drama Queen You are actually right on many points, but the key thing I am trying to say is that the ka and sr are better suited for weight distribution. I got 54-46 from relocating a TRUCK battery to the trunk, removing every AC/HEATER component in the car, and leaving the spare in back. In comparison to the KA-SR, you hardly have to do much to hit 50/50. Ask yourself this simple question. If you were building a straight track 240 that needs maximum handling, which motor would you choose?Kamin wrote:it CHANGED IT yes but its still a more balanced car than 90% of the FR cars out there. if you really think a 2% change in weight "messes up" your weight distribution i feel bad for you. if you cant compensate for a 2% change in weight balance you shouldnt be doing ANY form of high performance driving. 99% of drivers will never even NOTICE a 2% change. thats the difference between a full and empty tank of gas.
a stock 240 weighs in at around 52-48 and your at 54-46?
wow look at that huge change, now the car is worthless because all of the weight is over the front wheels.
Maybe 19,000 mile is too much. Im sure most everything is crap on theclip. No, I undertand that some sheet can go wrong but ill just take it as it comes.its all good but it aint all peaches and creme.O... jon(s)... don't b such a pessimist. this is the RB26 were talking about after all.waterpumps, rotors, fuel filters...come on. minor details. Hammering on...this is an r32 spec v. someone paid a lot of money for this car. let it sit a little too. my guess is it was probably sum rich japanese dude's mid life crisis car in 92; weekend car. just my guess.this car has no ac, no ps, and no bs.do most people leave door panels when going full a full strip job?All very good issues to check out and address though jon, thanks.Im giddy like a little school girl.JonPowell wrote:I cant wait for the 10 million threads about his engine overheating because the waterpump is ****, thermostat wont open. Or that he dropped a valve because the timng belt slipped a tooth or broke all together & blew up his engine. Or because it wont run right yet he never bothered to get a bigger fuel filter or new spark plugs.
What about rotors to match the new calipers? or new brake pads to fit? OR power steering/fuel/radiator/heater lines? Or oil pan? Clutch & flywheel...probably a little rusty or warped...people love to hammer on their RB26's? Exhaust kit? Gear oil, coolant, powersteering fluid, diff fluid? Drive belts?
The R33 harnesses wont work like you think...the AC system under the dash is different, placement of various items through the car are different, plugs for the doors are different, dome light, wipers, radio, wiper amplifier, hazard flasher, clutch snersor. Unless you have ALL the R33 harnesses you will be screwed...and I mean ALL. And even then you will spend 4 weeks splicing 240SX connectors onto it...plus the battery is in the trunk on the R33's isn't it?
But I guess you thought of all this stuff, right? That Race Bread motor is damn near indestructible....isnt it. should be fine!
Oh yeah....how long has the motor ACTUALLY been sitting before you get it and what kinds of corrosion/oil gum buildup is inside the lines & passages of the motor? Might end up replaceing some of those also.
Pessimist, no. Realistic because I HAVE ALREADY BEEN THERE, yes.jrsink wrote:

Salient point!!! Very salient.rb250sx wrote:I think in the occassion that there was a Forumla One party, we woudl have to change the name of team race bread for a short period of time to Race Beer, because i dont want to sit around eating race bread all night.

And seeing as this thread stayed so close to its origional topic, I say we continue in the tradition of Team Race Bread and discuss something totally different....Formula One Racing!
So far this year Renault has taken the checkered flag in 4 out of 4 race. You all must cheer for drivers Fernando Alonso & Giancarlo Fisichella in the race this weekend...televised live on CBS. Sunday May 8th is the Spanish Grand Prix!
Fernando Alonso has taken the last 3 races and hopes to continue this weekend in his homeland. Last race from Imola for the last 13 laps of the race Alonso calmly & skillfully fought off 7 time world champion Michael Schumacher to take his 3rd race in a row and continue the clean sweep for Renault.
Renault, as many of you may or may not know, is the parent company of our beloved Nissan and sent Carlos Ghosn to Japan to clean house, reorganize and breath life back into a company on the brink of disaster.
I myself am a HUGE fan of Formula One racing and love the fact that a young obscure driver is ont he way to becoming World Champion. If he pulls this off it will be HUGE for Renault and also make Alonso the youngest driver to be World Champion....EVER!
So any other Formula One fans, lets hear it!
Who cannot love 3.0L V10 engines putting out 950HP, and propelling a 1300lb(with driver) car to over 200MPH at 19,000RPM?!?!?! That's right 19,000RPM!!!
they stopped being the most advanced when technology stopped trickling down from them.JonPowell wrote:You are no longer welcome are my child....no longer welcome. How dare you declare the "most technologically advanced racing in the world" "boring"???
to it allSlo_240sx wrote:Oh most definately! NY PA AREA its on people! I'll rent a damn 5 star hotel and we can get some rally and F1 going on lol.
I definately don't have the time to keep up with f1 and even rally. I grew up with big sports schools but i have no clue when it comes down to the nitty gritty of say like football and stuff. I don't have the time to watch it so you can Bs me and I'll just nod yes.
I say both F1 and rally are very hard skilled sports. F1 - super expensive cars going around a track really really really fast. No room for mistakes. Rally on the other hand.... avg. 60-120 even faster on big straights, going around a turn SIDEWAYS. And to top it off you're listening for which way to turn and how fast by the guy riding shotgun, with a peice of paper in his hand. You must have TITANIUM, CASE HARDED, GRADE 8 BALLZ to be one of those guys even though F1 is just as difficult. Just my opinion yeah flame me if ya dissagree and its all, yet again, OFF TOPIC. LoL Go team race bread!
