Well, its pretty simple. We build these cars so we have something reliable and economical to pick up grocerys and whatnot. They are 500hp cars that get 35mpg. Soo. when we throw the kids in the back or a few bags of grocerys, we hit perfect 50-50 distribution. THAT is why people build RBs. you try doing that with an SR, you'll never be able to drift home from the corner store!

Seeing as how Race Bread is becoming so popular this day in age, I decided to start a crew. Well, I really didn't even start it, I think Jon did.. but if you gus are interested, Race Bread is now open for business and prospecting members.

I think this next comment should get plenty of flamage, but...mark my word, and I'll come to the table with all reciepts, this swap is happening and the car is gonna be on the road with a little more than $5,000(with stock suspension) invested. no joke. no bs. I know ya'll can't wait.

You go boy. I commend you!

Like I said, you don't have what it takes. Let that be your motivation. Show us what you can do. Prove us wrong. Be the example for noobs to come.

I'm curious what kind of crap you're going to buy to get this running for 5k.

I just threw my battery in the back, and if you have a carbon fiber hood, or aftermarket front bumper, Then you are probably right back at stock power to weight ratio.

check it: the clip has ~19,000 miles, it is a R32 GTR specV, the guy is giving me the RB25 transmission, and complete rear of an R33, and mckinney mounts at cost. Also mentioned he knew a company called Masa, that also did mounts for the 26 swap. He sais they used both at his shop and were of equal greatness, just Masa are about 20% cheaper than Mckinney. Three G's shipped to Tampa, delivered to my doorstep. Slowly but shirly. $800 coupe. no more than five G's. whose seen camo-red?

yep, seems airtight to me lol

what about a clutch? flywheel? youll thank me later if you replace it now what if the brake pads are bad?, rotors need to be turned? who is doing the wiring? does a R33 lsd even bolt up to a non-LSD 240? i think the axles are different.

you may have the basic plan, but i guarntee **** will come up. ever done a big engine swap before? nothing ever goes as well as planned.

Yeah R33 diffs bolt right up if you use matching axles. Same length and everything and skylines axles are so much more beefier.

stock gtr clutch are hard as hell to kill; especially sporting a stock motor for awhile; I would like to address the suspension properly before power; stock flywheel will do for now. rotors..naw. wiring-simple. I am using all syline harness through and through; just need to tie in the tailights and headlights; skyline cluster as well; plug and play! My guy is giving me R33 axles as well. I think the rear (all R33) will work fine with a custom driveshaft. Only thing is I am 4 lug right now, not sure what it takes to swap over to 5 or 6 right now. Get me any advice more you can think of; ya'll are in it with me!

I'm glad you haven't become discouraged yet .. You'll feel that later when you find out your funds are slim, and everything was too good to be true.

Ahh well. I really do hope you complete it. I'm not lying there. I also hope you admit when we were right about stuff though. It will be more expensive than what you are expecting.

5k.. no way in hell, unless you're working with crappy stuff.

I cant wait for the 10 million threads about his engine overheating because the waterpump is ****, thermostat wont open. Or that he dropped a valve because the timng belt slipped a tooth or broke all together & blew up his engine. Or because it wont run right yet he never bothered to get a bigger fuel filter or new spark plugs.

What about rotors to match the new calipers? or new brake pads to fit? OR power steering/fuel/radiator/heater lines? Or oil pan? Clutch & flywheel...probably a little rusty or warped...people love to hammer on their RB26's? Exhaust kit? Gear oil, coolant, powersteering fluid, diff fluid? Drive belts?

The R33 harnesses wont work like you think...the AC system under the dash is different, placement of various items through the car are different, plugs for the doors are different, dome light, wipers, radio, wiper amplifier, hazard flasher, clutch snersor. Unless you have ALL the R33 harnesses you will be screwed...and I mean ALL. And even then you will spend 4 weeks splicing 240SX connectors onto it...plus the battery is in the trunk on the R33's isn't it?

But I guess you thought of all this stuff, right? That Race Bread motor is damn near indestructible....isnt it. should be fine!

Oh yeah....how long has the motor ACTUALLY been sitting before you get it and what kinds of corrosion/oil gum buildup is inside the lines & passages of the motor? Might end up replaceing some of those also.
