Time for a little update. Here are a couple of pictures with the new wheels/tires for autocross. They're ADR Battle-Exe's 17x7 with Falken Azenis ST-615's. I'm also waiting to add an SAFC II, Stromung Catback to replace the Stillen Axleback, and also adding an HPA Midpipe, cutting off the end, and adding a high-flow cat to keep it STX legal. Those additions should happen in the next 2 months, just in time for the summer season!

Here they are before painting them black...and in action!

Hey... new here. My car is a '95 200sx SE-R fully loaded and modified... totalled at the moment... being rebuilt this summer.

Sounds sweet. Sucks to have it totalled though. Good luck and welcome to NICO!

The 200sx is back on the roads of Spokane, WA! Totalled and everything. She's driveable, just looks like hell. Starting Project: Rebuild DVLCHLD this weekend!! The dents will have to wait until summer... gotta get the engine fixed up a bit.

Any suggestions on running the SR20DET motor? Or is it just as well and good to buy the turbo kit?

If your motor is young, turbo kit really is about the same as a swap. Take a look at the stickies and see what sounds good to you, particularly my DE+T sticky and the motor sticky, as you can see the headaches involved with turboing yourself as well as what motors are available.

Honestly, if you have the money and the equipment, a swap sounds better to me, but either way is pretty tried and true.

Hey thanx for the info... gives me some homework to do. Been trying to find new parts for the motor just to get her runnin' right for now. I've been searching online but haven't come up with **** for websites. Ebay has some wicked stuff, but so far that's about it. Not sure if I should trust buying stuff off there or not. I'm low on cash at the moment, but come summer I'll be able to save more. Moving into a house I'm remodeling so I won't have to pay rent. That should save me about $300 a month. Not a lot, but enough to put into my car piece by piece. Hope to have the car done by beginning of next summer. Shall see... Thanx again!

I was at NOPI today here in Phoenix and came across the NICO club there for the first time. I just bought an 02 Spec V last week, completely stock and unmolested (so far) and I am glad to see there are lots of other Nissan enthusiasts out there.

What it dew? I've got 2 Nissans, My Altima which you can read about in the altima forums, and a 2005 Sentra SER Spec-V black all stock. The only thing I've done is bigger tires, 235/40 17's. I don't plan on doing too much to it until I'm satisfied with my altima. Plus my wife mostly drives the spec so I don't have time to tinker with it.

Hey, Ive spent the last few years on the RB forum, but seeing my RB powered 240 is going under the knife for some major upgrades, i just picked up a 2004 Spec V as a daily driver, so i'll be spending some more time on this forum as well. Hopefully i can read this forum without making some major upgrades to my spec V for a while:-)

Check the recalls on that Spec ASAP before you have another car under the knife for a very different reason . (butterflies, precat)

Thanks for the advise, I just checked recalls on 2004 nissans, and there dont appear to be any on the sentra for 2004. The precat issue seems to be a recall on 2003 model. If i am incorrect could you please point me to a source on the 2004 model recalls.

Well.. I might as well post on this

B13 1993 Sentra XE -- Daily driver with 177,000 miles... never had a problem with it, still chugging along after all these years.

B15 2002 SE-R Spec V -- Fully bolted minus the cams, with some other goodies... never have had a problem with it either.

A no-problems 02 Spec V? You're a lucky lady!

Apparently you've been here a month and a half and escaped my sight, so a belated "Welcome to NICO!" from me.

Pics of the Sentras!

Yep, no problems. I don't buy into all the talk about how '02 Specs are pieces of ****, mostly because I know several '02 owners that have had no problems and haven't gotten a header or locktighted the butterflies, and then my car has been perfect.

Unfortunately, I see many more problematic '02s than clean ones, but it's good to know that there are plenty of good ones too.

Well... everyone with good ones tend to stay off of the forums I've learned forums are mostly just for people to ***** about their cars, especially Spec Vs, and people with good ones tend to stay away.

The 240's mine, but I drive my wife's 2002 Sentra SE-R 4 to 5 times a week.
