Hey guys this may sound weird but I was wondering how many people on NICO are Christian's or believe in some form of God. Please put in feedback and any opinions you have whether you believe in God, any God, or none at all.

I'm just wondering. I'm in a Christian car club called STEADFAST here in the DFW area. I was on the Sport Bike Hype message board and someone had started a post just like this and it was great. As a Christian i just like to know what other people think it just kind of helps to get a prospective of other Christians, followers of other religions, and non-believers. I'm not here to push Christianity on anyone, or put down other religions. I'm just curious about who people turn to as a higher power.

Umm...there might be a "God". There might not be...But until one way or the other can be proved, I'll just live according to my conscience.

there was a discussion on religious stuff back in January of this year I think, you might want to search for that. In the meantime, I don't believe in any form of God or religion. Put simply, I believe they are constructs of man to give himself a meaning he so desperately desires but does not have... but that's just my opinion, you don't have to agree. :) I respect those who believe in god(s), and I try not to get into arguments about it because most of the time they are unsure of their beliefs and end up getting pissed off at me for not agreeing with them. The conversation I mentioned earlier was actually a very good discussion about God and religion I had with AZhitman and a few other people if I recall correctly.

Thats cool. I didn't search anything but hey if you don't believe in God I can't change that. But all I can say is that if you believe it in your heart and it makes a huge difference in your life how can it not be real.

sorry, i probably shouldnt have said that lol...i donno i have a sick sense of humor

i find all religion a joke, no offense to anyone. i believe in faith of self and no other...i dont believe in depending on anyone but yourself to get through hard times, to bring fortune. I dont search for anyone to blame for my suffering, and when i need help, i look to myself to get it.

i dont believe in goin to some big overly decorated building and talking to myself when i'm facing tough times...lol it all seems so excessively dramatic to me...that's all

hey bro, it's great that you have faith, but that's all it is, FAITH. there is NO way to prove or not prove of the existance of god. humans having been trying to figure it out for thousands of years, yet wars still wage over the question. no matter how much you say you're not trying to "push" your belief, you still get (p)issed when someone jokes about your faith. the sooner that we all recoginize that there is no proof to ANY particular god or belief, and one belief is no better or worse than another,,,,,,,the sooner we can all begin hating people for other stupid reasons!!!!!

I'm not pissed about what Main said. It hurts that people joke like that but i didn't like go off on him. The proof of god is there you just gotta look and open your eyes and your heart. And if you are a jew or a buddhist thats awesome. I started this post to be friendly and find out what everyone is like on this message board.

Just for argument's sake I'm going to reply to this. I don't have any intention of telling you what to believe in, its your choice, and if it helps you out that's superb.

My counter-argument is this: the human mind is more powerful than you can possibly imagine. You've seen the Matrix (1st one), I assume. When Neo is pulled from the "jump" program he is bleeding in the real world. When he asks how, he is told "your mind makes it real." This can hold true in this situation too. If you want to, you can convince yourself you have found something that doesn't exist. Heck, sometimes even if you don't want it you can create false realities in your mind. The effects you see in real life very well could be your mind projecting what you want to believe, even if it doesn't exist.

Hey skydragonnes I started this topic to find what people think now and see input right away. Im sorry that you dont want to read all this. You don't have to if you don't want to. Thats the great thing about life and Christianity, you have the choice. You can accept it or not. God wanted us to have the choice to accept him or not.

I may sound like a bible thumper or a holy roller. Im not some guy thats here to freak you out. So please if you have something to add to conversation great, but lets not sit here and bash religions calling them a joke.

So far there have been 20 posts and only 2 have actually been for any type of religion. The others that don't believe in higher power denounced all religions. I'm just wondering why do you think religion is so bad.

There is one problem the matrix is a movie. There are also alot of Christian undertones in the movie. Zion, the city in the movie the last city. In the bible Zion is a mountain that cannot be moved or destroyed. The ship the Nebuchanezar or however it is spelled. King Nebuchanezar is a biblical person. He worshipped himself and built a statue of himself and forced his people to worship it. Trinity. The Trinity symbolizes the three spirits of god, they all interlock to form one. There are many symbols in the movie. This doesnt prove Christianity is real, but it shows good reference of your argument. And how yes your correct in your statement about the matrix, it's still a movie a form of media for entertainment. Not a guide to live your life by, unless you want to kind of like trekkies.

i think religion gives alot of people hope, and for that reason i think it will always have a place among people everywhere. I have nothing against it, it brings alot of people together.

alrighty... as long as people play nice.... this thread will go on... but I will be monitoring this thread very carefully...

you see, religion is a very touchy subject.. it is a non tangible thing.. something science can not prove or disprove..

you take it as it is given... the key words are "Bling Faith" that's wha tyou need to have to belive in "God" or a "Higher Being," some people have it, some don't and some dispise people who do...

If you want to know and talk about "Religion" then call me up sometimes.. we'll pop open a few beers and discuss it all night... BTW, me and my friends do that all the time. As far as religion on a car board is conserned(sp) I don't think it belongs here....

Everyone has a right to belive what they want..weather it is a socital(don't even know if that's a word) religion or something you personally belive in..

It's great that you joined a Christian car club where you talk about God and cars at the same time...

here in NICO we are car people.. I don't debate over religion sober! :) I respect that you are all into your religion but seriously, people can get their feelings hurt over this kinds of stuff...

oh and as far as the Matrix is concerned.. the whole plot was basically inspired by the bible..
