This is general chat, I figured anything belonged here :pface

Oh and about the Matrix....I had a higher respect for that movie(s) when I found out they were kinda religion/Bible based. We had discussions about it in Youth group. It was some of the best discussing we've ever done. I mean, such amazing movies with such an awesome background :)

Oh yeah Neo is supposed to be the savior that sacrifices himself for the good of man. Hmm sounds like Jesus. And don't they get to chose their salvation by taking the red pill. They can spend eternity in the know or "go tumbling down the rabbit hole"Sounds like christianity to me. Creation is real. God created heaven and earth. The big bang theory has been proven wrong. And carbon dating has been proven wrong. God is real if you have faith he will be there for you.

It's sad that this thread got trampled on by people who didn't have to get involved :( The title is "How many believe in God?" not "How many people have an opinion on religion?". I for one am a Christian (Methodist to be exact :D)

and did anyone watcht he southpark episode last night? and how the knocked the hell outta mormonism? lol dum dum dum dum DUMB...you'll get it if u saw it...:pface

yes, but if you read his first post he also asks others to join in and state their opinions...so it's not really "sad" because this is exactly what he wanted out of this thread...

Well, I'm glad everybody (for the most part) is playing nice.

I'm a Christian, but I love my non-Christian brothers and sisters (especially the NICO ones:D) big-time.

NICO was founded by a Christian, and most of its higher-level staff are Christians. The very fact that we're cool with this type of open discussion should tell you something very important about the true meaning of our faith.

Anybody ever has a question (I've seen several here) about the faith is welcome to ask me (or several others who are just as or more knowledgeable). If i don't know, I'll say I don't know... Reno's right - That was a cool thread, I think everyone enjoyed it.

Thanks Anand for keeping an eye on this one - Keep up the good work, guys!

Im just expressing my faith im not saying you have to believe in him or your going to hell or anything like that. I'm expressing my faith the only way i know how and thats through personal experience. I youst to not be a christian and i was pretty bad, always getting in trouble and stuff. But since i accepted christ into my life 3 years ago My life has been awesome. Sure there are low points but choosing christianity isnt the easiest path. Look at this thread 90% of the people here are just denouncing my religion, and i am struggling to atleast backup my testimony and help anyone that wants to listen. You dont hae to believe me or take what i say seriously it is your choice.

I can't say I walk a certain path, but I do however think there's a god, I mean, I should be dead by now, I've done some many dumbass things yet I'm not, I think god must enjoy watching me push my luck or something, he/she is probably all like "ahahaha look at this silly bastard, I think he was in the wrong line when I was handing out brains!"

I would like to go golfing with Buddy Christ.

I gotta say, the statue makes me laugh (and I think Jesus is probably cool with it too). :D

He had a remarkable sense of humor, and had no problem throwing down with folks who needed a "reality check".

See, to me, you really don't need to be struggling with backing up your testomoniy... you went through what you know.. noone else besides you know what you went through.

the bond between you and God and or Jesus is a sacred bond between you and no one else will be able to understand it!

Don't take this thread as people are denouncing your religion.. becuase they are not!

they are merely expressing their opinions that you ased for in the first place.

You guys are right. Thanks black 240 your right it is a special bond between me and God but whats wrong with trying to let other people have that bond. Nathan i do want people's opinions i just got emotional and began to type. I just dont like people calling Jesus a bastard and saying religion is a joke. It's kinda like someone saying your beloved car sucks. You want to defend it and say no I love it and you want to prove it doesnt suck it's awesome.Thats kinda cheesy but you get the point.

Keep posting this is great.

For sake of contributing to the original question, w/ as many close calls I have had, there has to be some reason I am not dead yet. 1.Canal, 2. Tree, 3. Another car.......I have my own way of looking at it and just because someone doesn't share your prospective or go to church doesn't mean they don't believe.
Black240 wrote: As far as religion on a car board is conserned(sp) I don't think it belongs here....

Totally agree there are 2 things I don't like to see take up bandwidth on the boards, discussions about religion and politics.

i love all religions, im taking a class next semester thats all about learning about all the different religions in the world, its going to be alot of fun :)

saying one religion is better than another or better than no religion is really a personal opinion and cant be proven in any sort of scientific or worldly experiment, you just got to have faith in what you belive in.

On TV once I say a christian man say that everyone in the world trade center who wasnt christian went to hell when they died and that really offended me and made me very angry at the christian faith for a while even though I am one. After a while I realized that it was just his interpretation of what is said in the bible and this happens with every religion pretty much. Even though i like religion i wouldnt let a ink on paper over 1000 years old run my life. People should be more open minded and be willing to explore the moral IDEAS presented in various religious books.

point taken but when you open up pandoras box, you better be ready to take whatever comes out of it...

when you ask people opinion on a subject as "Religion" and on a specific religion at that... you should have been ready for any coment that is thrown at you..

that is one of the reasons I said, this does not belong here.. I've seen threads get very ugly over this..

I mean.. come'on, people are ready to kill/die over religion... you have wars going on till this day over religion... it's a touchy subject.. so you gotta be carefull on these kinds of things... I admire the fact that you can come on here and post up your feelings..

there is nothign wrong in telling people about your bond with God/Jesus.. but you also have to word it right and come across correctly! that's all

oh, well just for the record, i dont mean your religion is a joke...in the sense like...oh you're an idiot for believing in it...i'm all for religions in the sense that it brings people together and gives people hope in times of turmol, but PERSONALLY, i think it is laughable to "pray" to a higher being for help and guidance....that's all

and jesus is a bastard!!! j/k, i was joking about that too...i just have no shame in my humor that's all...

Hey Azhitman i know what your talking about. Jesus threw down big time when he threw the tax collectors and money exchangers out of the temple. Or when he said "he is free from sin shall cast the first stone." at the adultress. Thats when the Jewish priests tried to trap Jesus into contradicting himself but he outsmarted them.

"God is that indefinable something which we all feel but which we do not know. To me God is Truth and Love, God is ethics and morality. God is fearlessness, God is the source of light and life and yet. He is above and beyond all these. God is conscience. He is even the atheism of the atheist. He transcends speech and reason. He is a personal God to those who need His touch. He is purest essence. He simply Is to those who have faith. He is long suffering. He is patient but He is also terrible. He is the greatest democrat the world knows. He is the greatest tyrant ever known. We are not, He alone Is"-Mahatma Gandhi

hey J-SPec your right. The bible and your faith is based on self interpretation. You have to look deeper into the content than jus whats written on the pages.

Black 240 This is a car forum but i put it in the general chat area. If a moderator doesnt want this hear they can lock it. And yes is shouldve been ready for any comment and yes i shouldve worded what i said better.

I dont look to make this discussion ugly. If I did go off and start cussing people out it would just void everything ive said about my religion.

I never said you wanted to make this thread ugly... but it has a tendency to get ugly is what I was reffering to. It doesn't have to nessesarily be cussing at each other to make it ugly... there are plenty of other ways it can get ugly

Ghandi is awesome. He used his wisdom and words to free the Indians from the British. He does have the right idea no doubt.
