I was referring to the last part with the demonstrations on Property Taxes not being televised. But outside of reading the local outlets, did you hear about this stuff in the national news? Why?

I only knew about it because I live in the city that houses the State Capitol and one of the few counties that saw sky rocketing assessments. Though I must admit the re-assessments were done in counties that had the highest population centers.. as to not piss off massive amounts of voters during the State Elections.

But where do you want your break T? The arm or the leg? I was practicing my Judo throws this weekend on my nephew so I am all warmed up.

why exactly would the national news be necessary? i mean cmon, this kerfuffle is just over property taxes. it hardly warrants the attention of the international news.

BBC BREAKING NEWS-Grouchy old people in nowhere indiana protest about increase in property taxes.

yeah, if you want national news, give them a story worth running.

Yes because what Britney Spears drives her Mercedes into, what Paris Hilton is wearing and Angelina doing land mine awareness is much more relevant.

You must not have studied Judo. The way you learn how to throw in Judo, is to learn how to be thrown first. Trust me, I spent a lot of time being throw, flying through the air and hitting the mat in my lifetime. My instructor was a big fat Korean Paratrooper. He smelled too!

Any publication that prints more pictures of Angelina gets my post-tax dollars. I kinda have a thing for her.

BUT, see, the reasons behind that, is the general acceptance of ignorance as a cultural OK. What do I mean? I mean that people are more willing to be uninformed, and thats become acceptable. How has this changed US Politics? GWB, and Governor Peggy Hill (Palin) who made blissful ignorance something to be desired. News sites have catered to this with more stuff about people who don't matter, while parents park their kids infront of TVs for more time than ever before.

Am I proud to be an American? No.Will I defend my right to be disatisfied? You better believe it.

IS everyone arguing the same thing at this point? Seems like it to me...

I'm trying to keep up, but it looks like we agree that the current genre of Americans are media educated idiots. Every administration since there was one has done things in some shady way or another. Finally, depending on the current administration, it either bothers you or it doesn't...because we don't mind if "our" side is the one cheating.

Party politics is always a fail IMO.

Just so I don't leave out the couple of guys arguing about terrorism in a Tax thread...yeah we hear you. You wanna execute people suspected of terrorism without proof...got it. That scares me, because I'm right leaning on that subject and I still don't agree with you.

Thank you Bud

Another NICO member emailed me a long explanation over the weekend on how to do the edits but I of course screwed it up.

I think I know what I did wrong?

It took me almost a year until I could finally use photobucket. I will try the edits again.

Hey if you ever need assistance in removing clicks & pops from 78 or 45 RPM records I'd be happy to assist you.

Don't worry Howie, most heavy-Left leaners don't understand technology. They just want what everyone else has even if they don't know what it does nor how it works.

Neither do many others! An innocent mistake just requires that you pay the tax and any penalities. A good tax lawyer is needed as the IRS also makes many errors.

No problem! BTW I figured out what I did wrong.

Records can be briefly rinsed under cold water and immediately dried with a soft lint free cloth. They used to sell products in a spray can but I've always used plain water. Try to keep the water away from the label.

And give me a break, guys like Geithner and Daschel use turbotax? You have to be kidding, guys like that have CPAs/accountants that do their taxes. That is like claiming that Hélio Castroneves does his own taxes.
There is a professional version of Turbotax that is used by accountants and tax professionals. it is quite expensive but far superior to the consumer version. My accountant uses it

Hey Matt

You are funny sometimes and gave me a good laugh.

The truth is that it was the right that failed in the use of the latest technology in the 2008 presidential campaign.

They failed to raise enough money to keep pace with the Obama campaign. That coupled with the rapidly declining membership in the Republican party due to disillusionment and disgust with the Republican platform cost the GOP the election. They failed to heed the warning in the 2006 midterm election results. BTW Obama brought Stem Cell research back today.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03...=1&hp

With Obama posting his budget on the internet and not trying to hide the cost of war that the previous administration did, even if everything he is trying to do to correct the financial mess does not work out, In my opinion the GOP will still have a tough time regaining the White House and Congress?

And? The Republican party is a bunch of RINO's. One day we will actually have a real Conservative. Dunno when that will be. If I were you I would pay attention to the lies that Obama has already committed by breaking campaign promises and what the Dem party is doing with the economy because I am starting to hear a lot of grumbling coming and have even seen some in your beloved NYTimes.
telcoman wrote: BTW Obama brought Stem Cell research back today.
Where did it go? Are you talking about the lefty talking points about Bush ending stem cell research that is a complete lie? Howie, you really need to stop sticking your foot in your mouth as you may get a fungus. Obama did nothing but promise future federal funding for research that is already happening and has shown absolutely no results, unlike adult stem cells.

With the way Obama and Congress are playing their own games there may not be a US Gov anymore. As they stand, people like you who live in areas with a higher cost of living are footing the bill more than the rest of us. That makes me laugh
