ok, i know i'm pretty new here but since i'm a honda guy switching to a nissan, my lil' bro is already and always been a nissan guy, i thought i'd help out. a h22a (prelude engine) will fit in a Si but it'll need a new motor mount kit, getting the motor, the motor mount kit, getting it all wired up, and to get it to run properly you'd have to switch out the axles b/c the stock civic ones WILL break if abused! even if he does do that, he'll have a lighter car but it's 200hp at the crank not at the wheels. i'm going to assume you have 200hp at the wheels. but if he does ever get a h22a, he is easily a 13-14sec. car. a LS/VTEC and a B20/VTEC are great swaps b/c they're bored out more and have more displacement than a regular GSR. that along w/ the lower compression makes them great for turbo's and they'll have more torque. just look at the stock LS torque against a GSR it's a few ft/lbs but it counts. anyway, he can't get that in a week unless he has maddd money. a LS motor is better for a turbo b/c of the stock compression ratio in it and you don't have to fool w/ the VTEC effect. my friend has a GSR motor in a hatchaback w/ a GREDDY turbo setup, i fool you not, he has a high 11sec to low 12 sec setup. but he has gone through great lengths to tune it correctly, he even messed up his head on his 11sec pass. but your buddy can't tune it in a week and get that done. all the guages and everything involved can be done but that means a shop would have to pay special attention to his car. running NO2, he can make a few good passes, there are cars in the 13's down here, DARING enough to run NO2. but all those cars ended up blowing their motors. if he is running NO2 let him push it and learn his lesson by blowing his motor. i say at best he could get pulleys put in, headers, ignition and a new fuel system. but that won't give him anywhere near 200whp. only w/ NOS can he beat you or a DRAG or Greddy turbo kit. just a motor swap, even a Type R motor, he can't beat you. the Type R has 197 ponies but that's also at the crank running premium fuel. that's rare and i doubt anyone in his area has that instock and can send it to him in a week. that's a 5g motor. by the way, people like the B16 head b/c it flows better. it has to do w/ the lenght of the valves. the B16A puts out 160 out of a 1.6, GSR 175 out of a 1.8. Type R 197 out of a 1.8. hp per liter, of course the Type R wins but it's the cost. it's a lot cheaper to get a B16 head, it gets 100hp per liter for a reason. that's all my honda knowledge, i'm gaing a lot more Nissan knowledge b/c i'm preparing to get either a SR or a RB powered 240sx. i know you guys have AT LEAST 200hp at the wheels and NO civic or accord can hang w/ that w/o a turbo or NOS. i don't care what bolt ons he has. unless he has a prelude w/ all the bolt ons. so you're set. just concentrate on your driving and shifting and you'll smoke that fool!
