hey i was wondering if theres an oil pressure problem when running holsets on RB's? ive heard or toyotas 7m-gtes haveing oil pressure problems that they have like too much or not enough or something like that. i was just wondering if rbs had this problem. ive been thinking about putting a holset on my rb20 since im only looking for 350-375whp. i was thinking that either a hy35 or hx35 would work for those power ranges right with rather decent spool times.

No oil problems here. What kind of problems do you mean? You do need to make sure you ahve the appropriate oil pressure going to the turbine just like in any other turbo, which might require a oil restrictor. I have one, but can't remember what size it is. That's just to protect the turbo though.

sweet. was my guess right for turbo size for my power ratings? hx35 or hy35. i checked ebay last night and found a couple but they got a little exspensive for holsets. like $300-400. i guess if i keep looking ill find one. i know ive seen them on there cheaper than dirt sometimes i just didnt really think it would work that great.

Toadx8u--That thing is f'in HUGE! You making a drag monster?? I can't wait for this build thread

bounty--The H1 series is just the older series before the HX series. They work just fine, just a little less efficient and a little less flow. The dsm guys use them, and I know a guy over here with a H1e on his R33. It's pretty quick.

yup tis is gonna be for the RBXX that im building for the drag chassis i have...

about the turbo...specs = just BIG...lol like dont get too close BIGHolset HX55comp turbine 2.835" 3.031"72mm 77mm

holset wont release their trims but when i get home for mid-tour ill break out the mic set and calculate them...and from the pics i have i cant tell what the turbine is rated...but its either 16, 18 or 22cm^2, converted over those are .92a/r, 104a/r, and a 127 a/r

the compressor flows .75kg/s or 99 lb/min which is just over 1400cfm lets see holley make a carb that big...

just to compare...the GT3076R on my street car flows only 53 lbs/min or 756cfm and took my stock block RB25 to 11.6 so far...
